"For the third year in a row, Obama is by far the most admired man in America. Hillary Clinton continues an even longer run, ranked as the most admired woman for the ninth straight year. However, the results are different among the braindead. Bush is the most admired man and Palin is the most-admired woman.” -- Susan Page, USA Today, Link I have an idea: Let's put Hillary and Obama on one team and Monkey Fuhrer and the Publicity Whore on the other team and we'll have them play Jeopardy or Trivial Pursuit and see which team is smarter. "We're not taking seriously the very real and urgent threat that will undermine the standard of living in this country...the history of Republics is they average 200 years of life, and they all fail in history over fiscal matters. Don Glen Vliet (later Don Van Vliet), AKA Capt Beefheart!
Don, more than anyone else was Frank Zappa's inspiration. Zappa was willing to take Don's ideas to a commercial level that Don wouldn't, or couldn't for ethical reasons, and garnered commercial fame while the Capt languished in the shadows. The
American press missed his passing entirely, but it was all over the
European press.
As many other things American, he was appreciated more abroad than at home. The Captain changed my musical perception entirely as well as my perception of the world. He will be sorely missed. I shed a tin teardrop. Thanks for remembering, Bart. The

Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Re: Clinton's DADT "success" Your incessant Felating of the Clintons is tiresome, and ignorant of reality. Lots of people want me to hate our only double winner since FDR. Military discharges for being homosexual increased steadily between 1994 (when DADT went into effect) until 2001 (after Clinton left the oval office) Yeah...Clinton's policy was GREAT for the gays. /sarcasm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don't_ask,_don't_tell Jason the Clinton-hater I can tell you're trying to make a point - you're just really fucking bad at it. Are you attempting to claim Clinton gave secret orders to hunt down gay soldiers? Or could it be that, as society became more gay-tolerant, more soldiers chose to stop lying about who they really were? Are you attempting to claim discharges went down under Bush? Christ, you're really fucking awful at making a point. Your hatred of the Clintons has clouded your thinking. Send e-mail to Bart t-shirts for sale!

My name there was XXXXXX, and I along with many other long time posters were banned from the site without warning, and were not given a reason. I have been a donating member there since 2003, and a reader long before that. Another longtime poster there asked the administrators there why this happened in this thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=437x1336 You'll notice there was not much of an answer, a non-answer really. DU has had purges in the past, but the December 2010 purges were really something. DU has taken a hard right turn, and has eliminated almost all dissenting liberal, progressive Democratic voices. I believe they are doing this in advance of the 2012 elections. The 2010 bloodbath didn't wake anybody up at DU. If they did wake up, they were banned, or soon will be. Liberal Dems are being silenced on a "Democratic" board. Isn't that special? Here's another Bartcop thread there (DU): Seems they don't like anybody dissing DU, not even at other sites. Fine, that is their right, but I think many or all of these bannings were made because of what longtime DUers said on other sites: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=439&topic_id=48544&mesg_id=48544 Anyway, thanks for letting me rant. DU is not what it once was, and that is sad. I believe you will see more so-called Democratic message boards follow this pattern. Oh yeah, Thom Hartmann mentioned this a couple of weeks ago, and referenced a thread California Peggy started. I'm asking you to write about this on your website. I guess I sent this to you because I thought you'd listen. (withheld) I'm confused. If liberals are being silenced, wouldn't they be the pro-Obama Democrats? Is DU becoming anti-Obama? BTW, here's another former Bartcop reader on why they left: Remember when Bartcop was calling for Bush to "glass" Afghanistan after 9/11? That good ole boy went a little nuts for a while. Not sure if he ever recovered? Because I never went back to that site after that. Don Yeah, Don, I was angry on 9-11. I'll bet a lot of people were angry on 9-11 but how many of them had a home on the web with dozens of readers? If you weren't angry on 9-11 I don't even want to know you but by the end of the day I calmed down and was no longer into glassing anybody. I guess Don's one of those "never get angry no matter what" liberals. Send e-mail to Bart Blizzard Timelapse, 40

So much so I had to stop reading you as I knew he was Bush 3.5... How did I know that? Because the Bush loving media soooo loved him and was selling him so hard. Also the GOP slime machine went fishing instead of hammering his ass...they never popped into gear at all. That's true. The whore media loved Obama with all their heart AND the GOP loved him even more. I remember the Pigboy and FOX News kept calling him, "Another JFK." They couldn't get enough of him. The fix was in because they HAD to stop Hillary - no matter what the cost. Lots wanted to believe the hope dope of course...but Chris Matthews doesn't get a tingling leg for anyone who isn't just like his one time main man crush : Bush 2 imo It's a simple political equation: Press + loves = bad. In this land where babies are brought by storks and buildings collapse due to unpatriotic bricks, we need the gadfly because no leader, preacher, guru or saint will wake us up, though the Doomsday clock is ticking close to twelve.” -- David Ray, American poet, author of “The Endless Search” and “The Death of Sardanapalus and Other Poems of the Iraq Wars” Quotes "...Bartcop
