Quotes "Michele Obama says kids can't have dessert." -- Sarah Palin, caught lying again "It’s a really good goal to encourage kids to eat better and I think the First Lady is speaking out well.” -- Jersey Gov Chris Christie, telling that liar Palin to STFU Link "What Michelle Obama is proposing is not that the government tells you that you can’t eat dessert. Rather, the first lady wants us to recognize that we have a serious obesity crisis–which we do.” -- Mick Huckabee, telling that liar Palin to STFU Link Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Elections matter As I read about the massive protests in Wisconsin against the Republican attempt to end collective bargaining for state employees, I couldn’t help but wonder how many of the protesters chose not to vote in the 2010 election that put the governorship and a majority of the state Legislature in the hands of Republicans. Elections matter, and those Democrats who stayed at home to “send a message” because they were disappointed with the current administration are now reaping what they have sown, not just in Wisconsin but in Washington, D.C. as well. If you are a fan of dirty air and tainted meat, an unfettered Wall Street and global warming, then you are going to absolutely love the next two years. Hopefully, this hard-learned lesson is not lost on Democrats. If that is the case, then 2012 should be a great year for them. I hear what the writer says, but I disagree on who's at fault. Obama's style of governing has been to follow the suggestions of Glenn Beck, John Beohner and Mitch McConnell and the Democrats don't like that. Obama expects his "army" to follow him into GOP Land and they refuse to go. Giving the billionaires a trillion dollars so they can buy more toys is NOT what people voted for in 2008 and they damn sure didn't vote for a 40% cut in home heating subsidies for the poor - why can't Obama understand that? Subject: Wisconsin Hi Bart, Looks like governor snot locker has energized the unions in this country. We should be able to put him out of office before too long. Renewably, Doug, Engineer with a Conscience Send e-mail to Bart Here we go again Quotes "The Rev. Grant Storms, the Christian fundamentalist known for his bullhorn protests of the Southern Decadence festival in the French Quarter, was arrested on a charge of masturbating at a Metairie park Friday afternoon. Storms, 53...was taken into custody at Lafreniere Park after two women reported seeing him masturbating in the driver's seat of his van, which was parked near the carousel and playground...The first woman told deputies as she was walking around her own vehicle, she noticed the van windows were down and the occupant was "looking at the playground area that contained children playing, with his zipper down...," the report said.” -- Michelle Hunter, Link "I was only touching myself, I never actually touched a kid..." Wouldn't it be easier to list the religio-frauds who have NOT been caught in sex crimes? Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Demo Underground
Bart, Democratic Underground has not been working here either, for the past 24+ hours. Jawz Hey Bart, I have never had any problems getting any website. but I cant get democraticunderground.com for some odd reason now since yesterday. I thought the whole site must be down but now I see you can still get it????? I would like to know what is happening and see more info on this somewhere. Mike I can’t reach Democratic Underground either. I’m in Western Central Florida using Road Runner high speed service from Brighthouse Cable. Looks like the DNS entries for DU have been blitzed here, (withheld) I'm getting DU just fine, but many others are coming up blank. PLEASE try another browser so we can solve this mystery. If Firefox sees DU and IE doesn't, then it's an IE problem. Same for those who can't see toons on this site: If Firefox sees the toons and IE doesn't, then it's an IE problem. Bart, perhaps your readers could check what type and version of browser they are using and include that when they have a problem. I currently run Firefox 3.6.13 (Look under Help -> About) and have no issues. I suspect people having issues may be running an Internet Explorer version prior to version 7. Or an old version of Firefox. Hope this helps! Bill Subject: DU browser issues
Bart, I can't get it either. Been trying all afternoon. Roger in South Dakota Subject: browser issues
Hey Bart, I am running Firefox and have been having trouble as of late with your pages fully loading too so I don't know for sure what the problem is. Perhaps the powers that be are slowly trying to shut you down??? Death by a thousand pixels??? Hope you get an answer as I too am not that savvy on these matters. Dave Subject: DU browser issues
Bart, I didn't have a problem with any of my browsers listed below. Safari Firefox Camino Netscape Opera Mozilla Flock and last but least, Internet Explorer, the slowest opening of the bunch. Flock was the fastest. Richard J

Remember Big Dog being threatened by Jesse Helms, saying he couldn’t guarantee Bill’s safety if he came down to SC… Why is it okay to threaten a Democratic President, but not a republican one? I think we know who the real traitors are And I wish somebody in Washington would start screaming it… John C John, you're asking the Democrats to speak up? You ask too much. Clint - could/should make the cut and be one of the five male finalists Jovany - sleepy ballads put me to sleep - Goodbye. Jordan - could/should make the cut. He's Black, tell, slim and hip. He seems to have the whole package, but are his vocals strong enough? Tim - No Brett - Maybe he should compete on the girls side? (Votefortheworst.com picked Brett as their worst Idol) James - screaming rocker, could/should make the cut Robbie - sleepy ballads put me to sleep - Goodbye. Scotty - Country can't win in mainstream America Stefano - I don't see it. Paul - nice smile, but I don't see it. Jacob - emotional singer who lives his songs - could/should make the cut Casey - Like Tally said, maybe the most talented guy, but I'm not sure he's Idol material. He's a mold-breaker and Idol wants people they can control. So, they have five slots and six worthy contestants. As always, Idol has a "fix" for that. The judges can put thru anyone they want so I expect all six to make it to the next round. Reminder: Contrary to their less-than-honest claims, this is NOT a singing competition. This is about FOX TV making hundreds of millions of dollars - so the fix is in. BTW, FOX lied, the show was not live as they claimed. TONIGHT's IDOL 1.
