The whole thing is nuts. The economy is a shambles, saved from a free fall only by the Fed’s unprecedented
promise of free money for banks for at least two years. That’s how long a seven-member majority of the
Fed’s Open Market Committee expects it to take for significant relief to take hold for the 25 million Americans
who can’t find full-time employment.The 10-member committee’s three dissenters in Tuesday’s decision,
all unelected Fed regional board presidents, are free-market ideologues who don’t believe the government
has a role to play in reversing the nation’s economic disaster.
Funny, that promise of free money for two years gave back 3/4 of the money investors lost Monday.
Now it's Wednesday and investors have lost most of the 3/4 that was gained and it could get worse.
...gosh, I miss Clinton and his surplus.

Subject: What did the downgrade do?
Bart, to hear the right-wing blowhards talk, the S&P downgrade of the US debt shows that our debt
is no longer safe for investment. They also claim the free market is always right. So let's look at what
the free market has to say about our debt. If S&P is right, the interest rates on 10-year treasury bonds
should be up above 4% now, as shown by the red line, not down to 2.5%, as in reality.
Likewise, the higher-rated companies (by S&P) listed in the Dow should be comparatively safer,
so the Dow should be up around 14,000, as shown by the red line, rather than down to 11,000 as in reality:
So, either the Republican talking point about free markets is pure BS or the S&P downgrade is pure BS.
Well, if you believe the markets, investors are expecting average annual deflation of half a percent
over the next ten years…but we're worried about hyperinflation?

Obama said in Dec 2010, "The super-rich need more money," and he gave them a trillion dollar tax cut.
Then two weeks ago, Obama said, "The super-rich need to pay their fair share of taxes," but then he
flip-flopped and agreed to cut spending and gave the super-rich a pass on taxes at the behest of the Teabaggers.
Then Obama said yesterday, "The super-rich need to pay more taxes and we need more stimulus."
People say I'm too tough on Obama - but isn't he his own worst enemy?

Iraqi radical Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr Tuesday called on U.S. troops to pull out from Iraq,
blaming the Americans for the chaos and sectarian strife that engulfed the country after 2003.
"Go forth from our holy land and go back to your families who are waiting for your arrival impatiently,
so that you and we, as well, lead a peaceful life together," Sadr said in a message addressed to the
U.S. troops in Iraq, which was posted on his website in Arabic and English languages.
"Enough of this occupation, terror and abuse. We are not in need of your help.
We are able to combat and defeat terrorism and achieve unity," Sadr said.
The Iraqi people have only witnessed poverty, fear, human rights abuses, poor security conditions,
terror and sectarian militia which the Americans themselves have invented," Sadr said.
I vote we give them what they want - let's get the fuck out.

hated person in America, according to a new poll that tracks public perceptions of celebrities.
Anthony was more disliked than California's "Octomom," O.J. Simpson and Paris Hilton,
according to the poll released on Wednesday by E-Poll Market Research.
I find it hard to believe anyone could be more hated than Paris Hilton.
After all, she's good-looking, rich and has had several sucessful TV series
whereas Casey Anthony and OJ Simpson are only guilty of murder!
