Weekend-Monday, Sept 8-10, 2012 Vol 2934 - String back
A longtime Bartcop fan has published her first Young Adult Novel: "Adventures of a Teenage Muse". It's about a dragon and the muse he works for, not politics, but couldn't you use a distraction from the looming threat of Romney & Ryan? Besides, the author is a liberal and wants Bart to keep on swinging that hammer! "Adventures of a Teenage Muse" is available \on Nook, Kindle and Kobo for just $2.99 Amazon Link Nook Link Quotes "The DNC narrative arc: Michelle Obama was foreplay, Bill Clinton was pure sex, and Barack Obama was the cuddle in the afterglow." -- The Rude Pundit, in a Tweet Send e-mail to Bart GOP Menu: Obstruct and Exploit by Paul Krugman Link Remember the American Jobs Act? A year ago Obama proposed boosting the economy with a combination of tax cuts and spending increases, aimed in particular at sustaining state and local government employment. Independent analysts reacted favorably. For example, the consulting firm Macroeconomic Advisers estimated that the act would add 1.3 million jobs by the end of 2012. There were good reasons for these positive assessments. Although you'd never know it from political debate, worldwide experience since the financial crisis struck in 2008 has overwhelmingly confirmed the proposition that fiscal policy "works," that temporary increases in spending boost employment in a depressed economy (and that spending cuts increase unemployment). The Jobs Act would have been just what the doctor ordered. But the bill went nowhere, of course, blocked by Republicans in Congress. And now, having prevented Mr. Obama from implementing any of his policies, those same Republicans are pointing to disappointing job numbers and declaring that the president's policies have failed. Well why didn't Obama mention that in his speech? I wrote maybe a year ago if Obama had sent a jobs bill to congress every single month, by convention time he'd be able to say, "I sent 36 jobs bills to congress and Paul Ryan and the GOP radicals blocked all 36 of those jobs bills and THAT'S why you don't have a job and THAT's why I need a Democratic House so we can get you the jobs you need?" I listened to Obama's speech more closely that most Americans - he didn't say that. I wonder why? David Gregory, NBC's GOP Whore He loves dancing with his friend, Karl Rove Did you see Willard's appearance on Meet the Whore? Gregory let him non-answer every goddamn question. The interviewer might as well have been a Romney staffer. What loopholes will you close? "All the big ones and bad ones." But which onmes, specifically? "I've already answered that." Oh, OK. You've promised to balance the budget. How are you going to do that by cutting taxes and spending more on defense? "Revenues increase when you lower taxes." Oh, OK. Romney didn't answer one question - excerpt for the "What's your favorite tree?" questions. And then they had a roundtable to talk about how cutting-edge his interview was. Do they think they're fooling anyone? David Gregory is either a Republican or he's the worst interviewer in history. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: how evil you are Link Send e-mail to Bart We're

Obama - Why So Strong in Ohio? It's the auto industry, which Obama saved Link So why is Obama doing as well as he is in Ohio — particularly when compared to other 2008 swing states? Everything in this election starts and ends with the economy, and Ohio is no exception. And, things are looking up in the Buckeye State. Unemployment is 7.2 percent, about a point below the national average. And it’s down from where it was about two years ago, when 10.6 percent of the state was out of work. A key pillar of Obama’s pitch in the state is the impact of the auto bailout. Obama’s campaign has been running ads promoting the program as a success, and he’s been talking about a lot it on the campaign trail. “John Kasich says Ohio is fourth best in in job creation, America — which got folks kind of confused, because if it’s all Obama’s fault and nothing is going right, what’s going on in Ohio?” said Obama at a rally. “Now, I guess the theory was that it’s all the Governor’s doing. But I think we need to refresh his memory — because a lot of those jobs are autoworker jobs like yours.” Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Are we better off that we were 4 years ago? Republicans are asking the question, "Are you better off than you were 4 years ago?" If you don't think we are better off then vote Republican because the Republicans are going to take you back there. But if you think going back to Bush is a bad idea then vote for the Democrat and let the recovery continue. The Republicans dug a very deep hole and it's going to take a long time to undo the damage they did to America. I don't think you'll find anyone who will trade where we are to go back to where we were 4 years ago. Fuck Dave Marsh, whoever he is So I'm crusing in the Bartmobile Saturday, probably, and I turned on my X-M radio. Stern was a repeat and I wasn't in the mood for Douche Blitzer so I tried The Left Channel, 127. That's the channel that broadcasts my good friend Mike Malloy so I hoped to be entertained. I was not entertained, I was insulted by some evil c-word named Dave Marsh. He was a lot like the vulgar Pigboy, but without the Pigboy's class and fairness. First, he got off on a rant about how evil Bill Clinton is. Murderer, child-killer, rapist, you know, the usual stuff Democrats say about him. I figured hey, half the party hates Clinton's fucking guts, so I figure I just got one of those Democrats. Then he goes all the way back to 2008 to go over the wildly untrue horseshit charges that Bill Clinton is the evil race baiter who tried to destroy civil rights in America when he unfairly attacked The Black Man becauee his racism was so overwhelming he just couldn't help himself. OK. I'm still with the program - many, many, many Democrats wish Clinton would die. I get that - I'm used to it. But then he goes off on f-ing Obama. "Obama has had ONE good day in four years." "BOTH parties are inherently evil and will kill you." "Both parties will rape you." He claimed he voted for Obama, so I guess he's one of those hug-the-wall Lefties that can only see Obama's failures. Once again, he compares Obama to some mythical, perfect president who never existed and he f-ing HATES Obama's guts. I listend from 12:05 to about 12: 45 and all he did was scream personal insults at Clinton and Obama. Mind you, we're on X-M Radio's LEFT channel, home of Stephanie Miller, Big Eddie, Thom Hartmann etc. Doesn't it figure the Democrats would have a Democrat-hater screaming "rapist" at Clinton and Obama. Not only do we eat our own, not only do we HATE our heroes, we hire lefties to scream "Rapist!" at BOTH Clinton and Obama in the middle of a political campaign. You'd never see the Right do this - this is behavior we own exclusively. How did I get stuck in a suicidal party like this? Who is this I-hate-myself Dave Marsh? I tried to look him up but it's a pretty common name. I eventually found something about "famed rock n roll writer Dave Marsh turns political," but I've read an awful lot of rock n roll magazines over the last 40 years and his name doesn't ring a bell. Plus, the guy made the assholes at FOX look sympathetic. I heard 3-4 callers and they all told Dave Marsh the same thing: "Dude, you're a fucking loon - what's wrong with your brain?" and his answer was always, "If you disagree with me, it's because you're too stupid to understand OR you haven't been paying attention!" He scolded one guy for not immediately recognizing the Green Ticket nominees this year - as if! But my favorite moment of I'm-too-smart-for-you condescension was when he told a caller. (I wrote it down) "You must be deaf and dumb or maybe you're caught up in Obama's voodoo spell." Can you believe The Left would allow some handjob this crazy to speak for our side? How did Mr. Hates-Clinton and Mr. Hates-Obama get to speak for us Democrats? Sirius XM should fire that asshole and give me a shot on their channel. I need a job :) I guarantee I could debate people without accusing them of being under some voodoo spell and in the 40 minutes I listented to this asshole, he ONCE mentioned Romney saying, "He was a hedge fund corporate raider," but that was nothing compared the the constant litanty of lies he hurled at Clinton and Obama. The last caller I heard was trying to build a bridge between Dave Marsh and sanity. He said, "Dave, I agree with much of what you say but the two parties are NOT the same. If the Democrats kill ten people, (stupid analogy) the Republicans will murder 100 people." to which Marsh replied, "It's still murder," leaving the GOP off the hook for their endless global crimes. ANYONE who says "both sides do it" is covering for the GOP. They still want you to believe getting a blow job from an intern is so much worse than lying America into two wars and sending 6,000 soliders to their early graves. Mass murder and oral sex are NOT two equal "crimes." Dave Marsh is one of these "Alan Colmes Democrats" who can't shut up about how awful Democrats are. Fuck Dave Marsh, whoever he is. Think how good you'll feel after making an elderly couple's worst nightmare a little less scary. It's Wrong to not slur Bill Clinton American media should be ashamed of themselves Link Piers Morgan took to Twitter before Clinton's speech was even halfway through. "Already the best speech of either convention," he tweeted. "An oratorical genius right up there with Churchill, Kennedy, MLK and Mandela." That's wrong - you can't say good things about a Clinton - it's not done. He was hardly alone. "I'm giddy," said Ed Schultz after Clinton's speech. "Bill Clinton never ceases to amaze," said CNN's Douche Blitzer. "Just an amazing speech," said CBS' Bob Schieffer. He was "filled with vitality," ABC's Diane Sawyer said. "An amazing performance," evaluated MSNBC's Steve Schmidt. It's probably the moment that re-elected Obama, raved CNN's Alex Castellanos. And the latter two are moonlighting Republican operatives. Amazing. Four years ago, Bill Clinton was a raging racist and the enemy of Black people. Redlake Send e-mail to Bart Tom Daubert gets 5-Years Probation I forgot he helped WRITE THE DAMN LAW Link A long-time medical marijuana advocate who faced federal prison time for his involvement in a statewide medical marijuana business received a five-year probationary sentence. Prosecutors say (You have to take all this with a grain of GFY) in early 2009 Tom Daubert joined in the Montana Cannabis medical marijuana business. It was a big success and federal agents seized numerous weapons during a March 2010 raid. Why not just accuse them of being a front for al Qaeda? Wouldn't that save time? Daubert told the judge he backed out of the business four months before the raids because it started taking up too much time and he didn't like where the business was heading. He said he knew some employees had weapons for protection, but he didn't know how many they had until after the raid. Daubert helped write Initiative 148, which set a national record in its margin of public support for a compassionate statewide medical marijuana policy. Daubert later founded, and until recently, directed Patients & Families United, a non-profit public education and support group for Montana medical marijuana and pain patients, and Citizens for Responsible Crime Policy, a non-profit education group focused more generally on drug policy issues. So, Tom was very successful at writing passable marijuana laws? Maybe that's why he needed to be made into an example? But we got the outcome we wanted (Of course, I can't speak for Tom) so I'm willing to drop this until the next licensed merchant gets raided for no goddamn reason. Congrats, Tom! Subject: No prison for me Bart: My strategy in court worked, and the judge sentenced me to five years on probation -- but no prison and no house arrest. All things considered, a very good deal given that the prosecutors were pressing for 6-8 years in prison and that the maximum possible sentence was 20 years. Link Subject: last issue's mystery city Link Bart, it’s NYC, with Central Park in the middle, looking from the Harlem side toward downtown. It reminds me, though. I recently picked up a copy of Godspell in the $5 bin at FYE. They filmed the movie while the WTC was being built, and even shot one scene on the top of one of the towers. It’s eerie to look at the buildings now-they show a close up of the top of one of the towers and it is really difficult to watch that scene and not think of the people who were either jumping or waiting to die on 9-11. The fun thing about Godspell is that Jesus is played by a very young Victor Garber - a guy who is now openly gay. Some changes over time are sad and some are wonderful. Sue in Michigan.
