Quotes "Todd Akin: Mitt Romney needs to choose his words more carefully." -- LOLGOP in a tweet Send e-mail to Bart Romney Still has a Chance Not really - the whore press has to play their games... Link Take a breath, Washington. It’s too early to write off Mitt Romney. First, let’s deal with the obvious. There is no question that the GOP nominee is (1) a flawed candidate, starting with his original sin: (2) a history of flip-flops that belies a lack of ideological conviction. Then there is the matter of Romney allowing Obama’s team to define him as a (3) heartless, out-of-touch CEO who likes to fire people. And only a fool would ignore the past three weeks of (4) political malpractice: missed opportunities at the (5) GOP convention; a ham-handed response to violence in the (6) Middle East; (7) campaign infighting; and, the latest, Romney captured on hidden camera (8) dismissing 47 percent of the country as people hooked on the government dole. Worse yet, ha ha - I love that - polls show a growing number of voters believe that the (9) country is on the right track, a sign that the Democratic convention – specifically Clinton (10) touched a chord. It’s easy to dump on Romney Yes - because he strikes out every time. But, remember, some of the same people counting him out today dumped on Obama a few weeks back. Pundits have short memories. Here are five ways the campaign narrative could turn against Obama. Horseshit. Who counted Obama out "a few weeks back?" Obama has been ahead - by far - in this race for months. The five ways Romney could come back? Willard would have to run the table - ALL FIVE of their reasons would need to blow up and have Obama grossly mishandle all five - that's not going to happen. I suppose they're sticking with this BIG LIE to keep viewers watching but Obama would have to fail five bis tests and Romney would have to smoke all five. As Bush the Smarter used to grunt, Nah Gah Dah. Send e-mail to Bart Latest Election Betting Odds These days, it sucks to be Dog-on-Roof Link I believe this chart works this way: In Colorado, for example, you have to bet $240 on Obama to win back $340 In Colorado, you only have to risk $190 to win that same hundred dollars. So betting on Willard is $50 cheaper because the experts say he's going to lose. Of the six, Romney is only expected to win N Carolina and lose the other five. Send e-mail to Bart Shop Online

Romney's Luck Runs Out by Michael Crowley at TIME Link For a good long while, Mitt Romney was the luckiest man in politics. He joined the 2012 race as the default Republican front runner after more-formidable challengers chose not to run. His declared rivals were at turns ineffectual (Tim Pawlenty), ridiculous (Herman Cain) or self-destructive (Newt Gingrich) — granting Romney a fairly easy, if occasionally fraught, path to the nomination. An economic recovery that might have made challenging Obama pointless never materialized. For a time, you might say, all the trees seemed to be the right height. ha ha As Romney wrapped up his primary campaign, the right-wing hun, Charles Krauthammer, skeptical of Romney’s innate abilities, urged the would-be nominee to “pray for yet more luck, the quality Napoleon famously valued in his generals above all others,” whatever the hell that means. More recently, however, Romney’s luck has turned to shit. His campaign has been star-crossed, veering from one minor disaster to another. The latest example is the emergence of Romney’s covertly recorded observation at a Florida fundraiser that the 47% of Americans who pay no federal income taxes will never vote for him because they “believe they are victims” entitled to endless government support and, by the way, will never “take personal responsibility and care for their lives.” Not to generalize or anything. This, just days after Romney’s rash statement late on 9-11 suggesting that Obama sympathized with the violent mobs in Cairo and Benghazi. Before that, there was a convention to forget: Clint Eastwood vs. an empty chair. Romney’s failure to mention Afghanistan. And the way the Democrats’ big speakers (Bill Clinton, Michelle Obama) outshone the GOP’s ho-hums (Marco Rubio) and flops (Chris Christie). Yet the press tells us this race is close? Each time they say, "Mitt can still win this," they're really saying, "Mitt has lost this." Where are YOUR taxes Mittens and how much did YOU pay lately?" -- @Dargamogirl, on Twitter Send e-mail to Bart Ryan, Bracing for the Fall "Why did I get in this damn race?" Link As the Romney campaign goes into a tailspin, does Ryan regret saying yes when Romney? Ryan didn’t sound like Mr. Loyalty when commenting on Romney’s cruel comments about the 47 percent of Americans who pay no taxes Tuesday to a Reno television station. BTW, did you know our soliders on the battlefield pay no federal taxes? They are the kind of free-loaders Romney is going to save us from. Asked what he thought of Romney’s remarks, Ryan said: “He was obviously inarticulate in making this point.” Ryan went on to say the point the Republicans are making is that, under the Obama economy, government dependency is up and economic stagnation is up. Ryan added if given the chance, “I think he would have said it differently, that’s for sure.” And ...Ryan answered a flat “No” when asked if he agreed with Romney’s remarks. Ryan obviously thinks he does this whole riff a lot better, when he pits “the makers” vs. “the takers,” making essentially the same point as Romney. But makers vs. takers sounds rather Ayn Randian and grandiose, where as saying half the country thinks of themselves as “victims” and won’t “take personal responsibility and care for their lives” is dark and distasteful and not terribly presidential. So - they both got it wrong - no surprise there. "Why did I get in this damn race?" Ryan must be muttering under his breath. When 2012 began, he was a rising star with "credibility", he was the "next generation GOP." Soon, he'll be the guy whose team got beat by the Black guy with 8% unemployment. Sarah Palin turned her humiliating and embarrassing disaster-loss into a fortune. I wonder how Ryan looks in a skirt and a push-up bra? Send e-mail to Bart The super-rich used to pay 60% in taxes. Now Romney-types pay 13% and they bitch all the time. The guy working on your roof in the hot Okie sun pays 30% in taxes but Romney only pays 13% for making some job-killing phone calls? It's about a dragon and the muse he works for, not politics, but couldn't you use a distraction from the looming threat of Romney & Ryan? Besides, the author is a liberal and wants Bart to keep on swinging that hammer! "Adventures of a Teenage Muse" is available \on Nook, Kindle and Kobo for just $2.99 Amazon Link Nook Link Thurston Howell Romney III by David Brooks (thanks to Morgan Fairchild for the link) Link At a fund-raiser earlier this year. Romney, who criticizes Obama for dividing the nation, divided the nation into two groups: the makers and the moochers. Forty-seven percent of the country, he said, are people “who are dependent upon government, who believe they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to take care of them, who believe they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it.” Who are these freeloaders? Is it the Iraq war veteran who goes to the V.A.? Is it the student getting a loan to go to college? Is it the retiree on Social Security or Medicare? Romney’s comment is a country-club fantasy. It’s what self-satisfied millionaires say to each other. It reinforces every negative view people have about Romney. Personally, I think he’s a kind, decent man who says stupid things, but when will the incompetence stop? Send e-mail to Bart Subject: NY Whore Times lies... Send e-mail to Bart How to Convert a Democrat by right-wing 'actress' Janine Turner Link Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Does God endorse Romney? Over the weekend, Romney showed up with Pat Robertson and started playing the God card. "That pledge says 'under God.' I will not take God out of our platform. I will not take God off our coins. And I will not take God out of my heart," Romney declared! So I'm asking myself, would God endorse Romney, or is God more of an Obama man? One thing I think we can all agree on, God knows what's in Mitt Romney's tax returns. God also knows all of Mitt Romney's accounts in the Cayman Islands and Switzerland where is wealth is sitting there in currency that does not have God on it's coins. What does God think of Romney's godless money? Romney also declared, "we’re not going to let our campaign be dictated by fact checkers." How does he reconcile that with the 9th Commandment? And how would God feel about someone using his name for personal political gain? If I were God - I would not be impressed with Mitt Romney. God knows what he believes. But the real test is, "You shall know when by their fruits." One candidate has a world view that is in line with the values of the Christ story, compassion, charity, caring for each other; and the other candidate has a world view that reflects the values of Ayn Rand.
