While Mitt Romney did some damage in the debate, new polls indicate
Obama may have put a floor on his drop.

Nervous Democrats told TPM earlier in the week that they were eagerly anticipating new
polls before deciding whether Romney had taken the lead in the race outright — suggesting
a full-fledged freakout on the left could start as early as today.

Two new polls lend the most credibility. And the numbers, while improved for Romney,
still show Obama with an advantage in key states.

Ohio, a must-win for Thurston where Obama has held a solid lead in recent weeks.
NBC/WSJ pegs the race at 51-45 for Obama. CNN puts Obama up 51-47.

Freshman Rep. Roger Rivard (R-WI) has broken the rule: Don’t say “rape.”

In the aftermath of Todd "Legitimate rape" Akin’s comments, Republicans including Romney
unsuccessfully tried to get Akin to drop out of the race. Now the GOP has a new problem.

When disussing his father’s advice to not have premarital sex, Rivard told the Milwaukee
Journal Sentinel that “some girls, they rape so easy,” twice:

“He also told me one thing, ‘If you do (have premarital sex), just remember, consensual sex can turn
into rape in an awful hurry,’” Rivard said. “Because all of a sudden a young lady gets pregnant and the
parents are madder than a wet hen and she’s not going to say, ‘Oh, yeah, I was part of the program.’
All that she has to say or the parents have to say is it was rape because she’s underage. And he just said,
‘Remember, Roger, if you go down that road, some girls,’ he said, ‘they rape so easy.’

“What the whole genesis of it was, it was advice to me, telling me, ‘If you’re going to go down that road,
you may have consensual sex that night and then the next morning it may be rape.’ So the way he said it was,
‘Just remember, Roger, some girls, they rape so easy. It may be rape the next morning.’”

They just can't help themselves.

Their hatred for women boils over even when they try to keep it in check.

Romney's Rise vs Electoral Map

As a result of Romney's near-psychopathic performance, more than a few polls have risen
in his favor, with some even showing him taking the lead over Obama. What confuses me
is when it comes to web sites which track what the Electoral College map looks like, they
continue to show Obama with a comfortable lead.

For example, Electoral-vote.com currently shows Obama leading Romney
by a fairly huge 332-206 margin, and Nate Silver has Obama up by 297-241.

I just want this to be over so I can breathe again.

Obama's Electoral Numbers Good

Last week's debate inflicted severe turmoil on Obama's standing in the polls, breathing new life
and energy into Romney's bid. The debate altered the dynamic of race, but it did not change the math.

It has been clear at least since February that Romney has to win Florida, Ohio and Virginia to have
a viable shot at victory. This troika, along with the states safely in the Republican column, would bring
Romney to 266 electoral votes. From there, he would need just one more state—say, New Hampshire
—to push him over the 270 mark. All three states have moved in his favor over the past two weeks.

26,000 died last year from no health care

More than 26,000 working-age adults die prematurely in the United States each year because
they lack health insurance, according to a study published ahead of a landmark U.S. Supreme
Court ruling on Obama's healthcare reform law.

The study estimates that a record high of 26,100 people aged 25 to 64 died for lack of
health coverage in 2010, up from 20,350 in 2005 and 18,000 in 2000.

That makes for a rate of about 72 deaths per day, or three per hour.

Three poor people die per hour? The GOP can live with that.

They can live with anything as long as they don't have to pay taxes like us little people.

I've been waiting to see if any news outlets brought this subject up. So far no.
I've spent 20+ years dealing with people with substance abuse problems.

I would swear in a court of law that, what I saw during the presidential debate,
Romney was under the influence of narcotics, specifically cocaine.

His eyes, body movements, gestures, speech and constant interruptions
were in keeping with someone under the influence of cocaine.

Again, I am amazed that not one mention of this has appeared in the press.

Ryan's plan will put those well over 70 in a viability bind. They didn't expect to live this long.
Their own savings have run out. They depend on social security for heat, food, and medicare
drugs to keep them alive. The loss of a few thousand in income puts them in the grave.

A doctor friend needed a caring shoulder, so distraught was he about old ladies who went on
a diet of tea and so, while denying it even to themselves, were quietly ending their lives.
Expect much more of this. Much more.

Millions of mostly women losing as much as a decade of precious life. Our national lifespan
slipping out of the first world statistically, that is the consequence of the Ryan plan.

A freshman congressman running for re-election on a pro-life platform urged his pregnant mistress
to get an abortion, according to a transcript of the recorded conversation.

The recording appears to have been made before Republican Rep. Scott DesJarlais' divorce from
his wife, Susan, was finalized in 2001. According to the transcript, DesJarlais tells his mistress that
he is concerned that she hadn't taken steps toward terminating the pregnancy.

"You told me you'd have an abortion, and now we're getting too far along without one," DesJarlais said.
"Let's get this solved and get it over with so we can get on with our lives...."

On his website DesJarlais says: "All life should be cherished and protected. We are pro-life."

"Pro-lifers" turn pro-choice when it happens to them. That "all life is sacred" bullshit is
just for the poor and the Blacks, not respectable Republican white folks.

I love the part where DesJarlain says, "Let's kill "the baby" so we can get on with our lives."

THIS is the GOP without the mask.

How do we EVER lose a single election to these lying sons of bitches?

If I ran the DNC I would oplunish these bastards, then ounish them some more
and then punish them some more until they said, "I've had enough of politics."

Democrats are just too fair and too nice to get in the goddamn fight.
