Link Send e-mail to Bart Nutjobs See a Romney Landslide because they're not betting anything on it Link 1. The Romney Campaign: Independents On Wednesday, after one of Romney’s worst days of polling, the campaign held a conference call for reporters. According to TPM, “Romney’s top staff offered reporters an endless number of reasons they’re going to beat Obama. Not included on their list of Romney advantages: a clear lead in the polls.” 2. Karl Rove: Party ID Bush’s Brain wrote, “It comes down to numbers. And in the final days, from polling data to early voting, they favor Mitt Romney.” Obama has led Romney in 18 of the last 20 polls of Ohio. 4. Dick Morris: The Pollsters In My Head Say… Perhaps the best sign for Obama is Dick Morris predicting a “landslide” win for Romney. Morris is arguably the wrongest person in the universe. (Did Fred Barnes die?) But how does he come to this analysis? By inventing poll numbers. If these people had to bet 10% of their net worth, they'd bet on Obama. It's real easy for me to give you my Nancy Grace Guarantee that not only will I win the PGA's US Open in 2013, I'll also pitch a perfect game for the Mets and be the World Series MVP. If I don't have any money on it, I can guarantee any goddamn thing in the world. I love it when they talk politics on NBC's Poker After Dark. which I found after a two-year hiatus On that show, if you say, "I think Romney's going to win," the guy to your left is liable to grab a bundle of hundred dollar bills and say, "Let's bet $10,000 on that." There's very little loose talk at a cash poker game because it's too easy to make someone eat their words when cash is so readily available. Since there's no cash attached to these wild-ass Republican predictions, they're free to lie their asses off. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: eight years ago Eight years ago on the Friday before the election Osama bin Laden released a video giving Bush the boost he needed to win the 2004 election. Last year President Obama took out bin Laden making sure that doesn't happen this year. Sure feels good knowing bin Laden is gone. Marc Perkel Send e-mail to Bart Geraldo slams GOP's Benghazi Bloodlust It's a good week for the GOP to have a bad week Link Horendo Revolver Rivera slammed the GOP's politicization of the attack in Benghazi, firing off a series of tweets while hunkered down at home during Hurricane Sandy. Rivera criticized the controversy being pushed by some wacked-out conservatives. It's "clear no C130 gunships were available," Rivera tweeted. "Criticize coverup but saying White House watched and did nothing to help is a lie." Rivera called the "GOP bloodlust" surrounding Obama's handling of Libya "insincere," "desperate" and reminiscent of the political firestorm surrounding the "Fast and Furious" scandal that rocked the ATF in 2011. The "real" question regarding Benghazi, Rivera tweeted, is this: "Did Obama spin to retain Bin Laden killer mystique?" What? To suggest the four U.S. consulate workers killed in Benghazi "could have been saved," Rivera added, is a "cruel myth." "Life is not an action movie," he tweeted. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Awesome site bart Bart, I love your site and often copy and paste cartoons and such into emails and forward to my friends. I am on disability and make very little so it is hard for me to donate money to any cause except keeping the lights on and food on the table but your humor keeps me sane. I do wish however you had a link to post some of the article and cartoons on Facebook. I think it would increase traffic to your GREAT site. Keep up the great work. Thanks, Garry in Georgia Garry, we are working on that, honest. Send e-mail to Bart War on Women to Cost GOP? Do women care about reproductive rights? Link What if misogyny ends up costing Republicans the Senate? Judging by recent polls, this is not a crazy proposition — especially if “gaffes” on abortion, rape and contraception are equated by the electorate with extremism, repelling even ideologically sympathetic voters. Just look at Indiana, where the Democrat has voted for House Republicans’ most restrictive legislation on reproductive rights. Still, Joe Donnelly managed to avoid doing what Richard Mourdock did – getting famous for talking insensitively about rape. They were tied but now Mourdock is down 11 points. Meanwhile, in Missouri, Todd Akin, is locked in a race that was never supposed to be competitive, and in Connecticut and Massachusetts, both abortion and contraception have been used to pummel moderate Republicans with the ever-rightward agenda of the national party, and for that reason and more, it’s looking like Democrats will prevail. . Send e-mail to Bart Subject: my prediction Four years ago, one of the General Managers at Sargent asked me the morning of the election who would win the election. I asked him "how many days in a year?" When he replied "365", I told him that's how many electoral votes Barack Obama would have. When all the votes were generated, he ended up with 365. This time, my prediction has come up: Barack Obama - 304 Mitt Romney - 234 Larry B Send e-mail to Bart I'm Voting 3rd Party This Year A non-Obama vote is a vote for Mittens by Dave Lindorff Link I can’t do it. As much as I loathe Romney, I cannot bring myself to vote for Obama, the Nobel Peace Laureate with the mushrooming Kill List on his desk. I voted for Obama in 2008. I did it hoping we'd get a progressive president. Boy was mine a vain hope! What we got instead was a president who backed down in advance at almost every challenge, telegraphing his fall-back position, whether it was pulling troops out of Iraq or defending Social Security and Medicare, or even the passage of Obamacare. Translation: I voted for Perfect and didn't get Perfect so I'm voting for Romney to punish Obama. I wish these Lefty Dreamers would come and live with us in the real world. Had Dave Lindorff been around in 1944, he'd have nothing but complaints about FDR. He wants a perfect president who will vote EVERY ISSUE just like Dave Lindorff would and since that didn't happen with Obama, he's voting for Romney. Liberals are incapable of learning. Uhler Link Today's eExplicit racism is nothing like the explicit racism that existed fifty years ago. Lee Atwater, a bare knuckles campaign advisor to both Bush bastards, explained the evolution of explicit racism this way: “You start out in 1954 by saying ‘Nigger, nigger, nigger.’ By 1968 you can’t say ‘nigger’ – that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states’ rights and all that stuff. You’re getting so abstract now that you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is that blacks get hurt worse than whites.” However, the general move away from such repugnant racism does not mean that it no longer exists. Consider the seventh grade school teacher in Florida, who told her students that Obama’s slogan “CHANGE” meant “Come Help a Nigger Get Elected.” Or consider the professor at a small liberal arts college who saw a poster for the College Republicans that depicted Obama as the Joker from the Batman movie, Dark Knight. “The poster was – and is – as undoubtedly ‘racial’ as any picture of a black man in whiteface must be.” Which is why that professor concluded: “That the white students could design and defend the poster seems not only racial, but treasonous.” Racism is America's second biggest problem. It's first if religious insanity.
