Business leaders, who have long indulged the Republican far right as an instrument toward their own ends,
seem to be growing weary of its political excesses. Recognizing the public verdict of last month’s election,
corporate officialdom is moving toward moderation on taxes and other issues, showing support for the
Obama White House and edging away from congressional Republicans.

The latest top executive to endorse the president’s position on rescinding the Bush tax cuts for the top
two percent is Fred Smith, CEO of Federal Express and a former economic advisor to John McCain
— who denounced as “mythology” the notion that raising the top rate would damage the U.S. economy.

Smith joined a lengthening queue of business leaders who have stepped up over the past week to voice
their acceptance of increased taxes as part of a budget agreement to break the stalemate on Capitol Hill
— not only to avoid the fiscal cliff, but because fairness requires the wealthy to pay their fair share.

I don't think American business leaders care about fairness.

They're concerned with one thing - profit - and they must have discovered
that they can make more profits with honey than they can with vinegar.

They'll even be nice to the Black guy if it means more profits.

Michigan's New Anti-Union Law

Pay attention to what is happening in Michigan, because it will add downward even more pressure to
your wages and benefits, wherever you live and work. Republicans in the Michigan legislature have
rammed through anti-union “right-to-work” laws making union dues voluntary even as unions a required
by law to provide services to members and non-members. They say this will make Michigan more
“business-friendly” by driving down wages and benefits, thereby stealing jobs from states where
working people have rights. The actual intent is to get rid of the unions altogether, and their ability
to fight for the 99% in the ongoing class war with the 1%.

What Are So-Called “Right-To-Work” Laws?

“Right-to-work” means the right to work in a unionized business that
has a negotiated contract without paying dues to the union.

How is this spreading in a year when Democrats are winning big?

I think Ohio and Pennsylvania need to be paying attention.

With all due respect...The people that say "no conspiracy" haven't looked at the questions,
anomalies and outright smoking guns of that event.

And that's all "conspiracy nuts" are doing, asking questions. And there are many, many questions
that can't be answered. Not just for 9/11, either; JFK, ( and Oswald), RFK, MLK, John Lennon, etc.,..

I am shocked at how much people want to look away and forget.
It doesn't bother people that Bush, Cheney, et al killed millions of people to enrich themselves.
The first question an investigator asks is "who profited?" Obvious., no?

And finally, isn't it convenient that people who ask questions are immediately
"conspiracy nuts"? Sometimes there ARE conspiracies.

Perry Sanders Jr. said he was not given any notice that the report would be released on Friday
and he criticized police for not closing one of Los Angeles’ highest-profile unsolved murders,
especially since he had been told that police had identified those responsible.

“I’ve been advised by the homicide detective that was in charge of the investigation and is
no longer with the department that the crime has been solved for several years now,”
Sanders told The Whore AP. “This was confirmed by at least one other person who is
currently on the force and it is ridiculous that an arrest has not been made for a crime
that’s allegedly been solved for several years.”

Granted, Biggie Smalls and Tupac weren't "assassinated" (insert great Chris Rock joke here)
but isn't it odd that you can murder very well-known people and cover-up the truth?

Tonight's Sandy Relief 12-12-12 Concert

I guess in one way, this could be considered the biggest concert of all time.

We'll see Springsteen, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Bon Jovi, along with members of
The Beatles (McCartney) Pink Floyd (Roger Waters) Nirvana (Dave Grohl) Pearl Jam
(Eddie Vetter) Cream (Eric Clapton) plus Kanye West, Billy Joel and Alicia Keys.

There's even rumors of Led Zeppelin dropping by, but I seriously doubt that.
I'm sure they could stunble thu Rock n Roll and Whole Lotta Love with no practice
but Grandpa Plant wants to bury his biggest hits and play to empty country taverns.

BTW, that Celebration Day concert really rocks.
Everybody had a great night and Plant's voice was in great shape.

I think I'll watch tonight.

Former President Jimmy Carter gave a full-throated endorsement of state efforts to legalize
marijuana during an appearance at a CNN forum aired on Tuesday.

Carter, who as president supported an era of marijuana decriminalization in the mid-1970s,
told CNN that he was "in favor" of states that were taking steps to legalize the drug.

"I think it’s OK,” Carter said. “I don’t think it’s going to happen in Georgia yet, but I think
we can watch and see what happens in the state of Washington for instance, around Seattle,
and let the government and the people see - does it cause a serious problem or not.”

Jimmy's right on target. They CAN'T LET this experimentation take place because if crime
goes down, if DWIs go down, if spouse abuse goes down, if street crime goes down, someone
might suggest that legal pot is GOOD for society and we can't have that.

People who need to hide the facts are always wrong.

I say let's list the facts and make laws by drawing logical conclusions.
