Quotes "It won't kill the country if we raise taxes a little bit on millionaires. I don't really understand why Republicans don't take Obama's offer. Really? The Republican Party is going to fall on its sword to defend a bunch of millionaires, half of whom voted Democratic and half of whom live in Hollywood and are hostile?" -- Bill Kristol, shocking the huns at FOX News, Link Send e-mail to Bart Corporate Leaders Staying Away in Droves by my good friend Joe Conason Link Business leaders, who have long indulged the Republican far right as an instrument toward their own ends, seem to be growing weary of its political excesses. Recognizing the public verdict of last month’s election, corporate officialdom is moving toward moderation on taxes and other issues, showing support for the Obama White House and edging away from congressional Republicans. The latest top executive to endorse the president’s position on rescinding the Bush tax cuts for the top two percent is Fred Smith, CEO of Federal Express and a former economic advisor to John McCain — who denounced as “mythology” the notion that raising the top rate would damage the U.S. economy. Smith joined a lengthening queue of business leaders who have stepped up over the past week to voice their acceptance of increased taxes as part of a budget agreement to break the stalemate on Capitol Hill — not only to avoid the fiscal cliff, but because fairness requires the wealthy to pay their fair share. I don't think American business leaders care about fairness. They're concerned with one thing - profit - and they must have discovered that they can make more profits with honey than they can with vinegar. They'll even be nice to the Black guy if it means more profits. Send e-mail to Bart Michigan's New Anti-Union Law By Dave Johnson Link Pay attention to what is happening in Michigan, because it will add downward even more pressure to your wages and benefits, wherever you live and work. Republicans in the Michigan legislature have rammed through anti-union “right-to-work” laws making union dues voluntary even as unions a required by law to provide services to members and non-members. They say this will make Michigan more “business-friendly” by driving down wages and benefits, thereby stealing jobs from states where working people have rights. The actual intent is to get rid of the unions altogether, and their ability to fight for the 99% in the ongoing class war with the 1%. What Are So-Called “Right-To-Work” Laws? “Right-to-work” means the right to work in a unionized business that has a negotiated contract without paying dues to the union. How is this spreading in a year when Democrats are winning big? I think Ohio and Pennsylvania need to be paying attention. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Sec. o' State Perhaps a reality show with Dave Navarro, "Rock Star: Secretary of State" is in order. We could have challenges where contenders humiliate themselves to get the job it would be wonderful. Sal Subject: 9/11 With all due respect...The people that say "no conspiracy" haven't looked at the questions, anomalies and outright smoking guns of that event. And that's all "conspiracy nuts" are doing, asking questions. And there are many, many questions that can't be answered. Not just for 9/11, either; JFK, ( and Oswald), RFK, MLK, John Lennon, etc.,.. I am shocked at how much people want to look away and forget. It doesn't bother people that Bush, Cheney, et al killed millions of people to enrich themselves. The first question an investigator asks is "who profited?" Obvious., no? And finally, isn't it convenient that people who ask questions are immediately "conspiracy nuts"? Sometimes there ARE conspiracies. Rick from Fullerton. Speaking of conspiracies... Notorious B.I.G. autopsy report released Crooked cops protected the real killer - why? Link Perry Sanders Jr. said he was not given any notice that the report would be released on Friday and he criticized police for not closing one of Los Angeles’ highest-profile unsolved murders, especially since he had been told that police had identified those responsible. “I’ve been advised by the homicide detective that was in charge of the investigation and is no longer with the department that the crime has been solved for several years now,” Sanders told The Whore AP. “This was confirmed by at least one other person who is currently on the force and it is ridiculous that an arrest has not been made for a crime that’s allegedly been solved for several years.” Granted, Biggie Smalls and Tupac weren't "assassinated" (insert great Chris Rock joke here) but isn't it odd that you can murder very well-known people and cover-up the truth? Tonight's Sandy
Relief 12-12-12 Concert
I guess in one way, this could be considered the biggest concert of all time. We'll see Springsteen, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Bon Jovi, along with members of The Beatles (McCartney) Pink Floyd (Roger Waters) Nirvana (Dave Grohl) Pearl Jam (Eddie Vetter) Cream (Eric Clapton) plus Kanye West, Billy Joel and Alicia Keys. There's even rumors of Led Zeppelin dropping by, but I seriously doubt that. I'm sure they could stunble thu Rock n Roll and Whole Lotta Love with no practice but Grandpa Plant wants to bury his biggest hits and play to empty country taverns. BTW, that Celebration Day concert really rocks. Everybody had a great night and Plant's voice was in great shape. I think I'll watch tonight. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Amazon pennies Hey Bart, How do we know Amazon is throwing you some pennies when we use the portal link? Edd Not sure... If you write and give me the date and what you bought I can look and see if it showed up - not much of an answer, I know. If you start out with bartcopcom in the link, I'll probably get credit. Not sure about the people who (naturally) shop around a little before you make your final purchase, but for sure, many transactions are going thru. Most of them are 4 cents for a song download but everything helps and I'm grateful and thrilled to get it. Video I hope the video is still up when you click Send e-mail to Bart Subject: fund-raising idea Bart, there are prob a lot of artists that visit your site…. How about if we each donate one pc of work for you to auction off? A photo print……or a sketch…. could be a good way to raise some $$$$$$$$ for the site. I wish I could send cash but biz is slow and I have 3 kids to put food on. ha ha Mario the Photographer Mario, that's a good idea. The artists would get some exposure, too. Click Here to see additional donated art. BTW, I'm lost about how to handle this - anyone got any ideas? Subject: No Art Auction on EBay Good god man, don’t do that! Lolz They’ll republican your profit. It’d be so much easier and better for your bottom line to do a silent auction via your website. Just setup a page with the pictures of things available for auction. Link to the artist’s site so the bidder knows we aren’t liars and TeaBaggers. Post an end date to bidding. Post a link to your email that fills the subject line with the name of the artist (so you know what they are wanting). Have people email directly with a bid. At the end date, the biggest number wins. They pay you, you email us, we ship. The end. Ebay can suck it. I hate Ebay. Kathy I like that idea. Please re-send your art pictures unless I already have them posted Here If you sent a link and said, "Pick something," I will. Maybe next issue we'll get started on this. Thanks to Kathy! Link Former President Jimmy Carter gave a full-throated endorsement of state efforts to legalize marijuana during an appearance at a CNN forum aired on Tuesday. Carter, who as president supported an era of marijuana decriminalization in the mid-1970s, told CNN that he was "in favor" of states that were taking steps to legalize the drug. "I think it’s OK,” Carter said. “I don’t think it’s going to happen in Georgia yet, but I think we can watch and see what happens in the state of Washington for instance, around Seattle, and let the government and the people see - does it cause a serious problem or not.” Jimmy's right on target. They CAN'T LET this experimentation take place because if crime goes down, if DWIs go down, if spouse abuse goes down, if street crime goes down, someone might suggest that legal pot is GOOD for society and we can't have that. People who need to hide the facts are always wrong. I say let's list the facts and make laws by drawing logical conclusions. Send e-mail to Bart Is Scalia gay? Tom B Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Tiger loves Lays Bart, R-Man can't possibly be reading your site...next thing you know, he's going to be suggesting that you hate all white quarterbacks that look inbred because of some random Cowboys post. The Eldrick curse has been going strong for years now, I am convinced that much of his downfall is directly tied to you. If R-Man wants to be offended about Tiger satire, he should look up Wanda Sykes "I heard he was changing his name to Lion Cheetah." Also, too...I hate it when people try to discount critical thought about 9/11 by calling you a Truther. Bill Maher does it all the time. I'm not one of those "controlled demolition" people, but there is so much we don't know (and maybe never will) about what happened that day, I'd be reluctant to say we have the full story. Consider me a doubter, not a truther...it's the people who are certain they know what happened that day that we need to worry about. Hammer on, dude! Tom West Coast Send e-mail to Bart Gifts

Tiger's EX Name-Drops in Miami
Claims some source at some nightclub... Link Elin Nordegren, the former wife of sex-addict and pro-golfer Tiger Woods, is said to have been name-dropping in Miami when no one noticed her at the clubs she was partying in. Woods was hanging out with friends for dinner and was almost turned away from Hyde when no one recognized her. She eventually got in on her name, but didn’t stay long... “Someone in the entourage said, ‘This is Elin, Tiger Woods’ wife,’ so only after they dropped the name, they let her in,” a source said. This is such bullshit. "A source" has accused her of tacky bahavior? This was Yahoo's TOP trending story at press time yesterday. Some unknown alledged source claims "someone in the entourage" said something and Yahoo flashes that bullshit around the world to - I assume - make her look bad. Why? What did Elle ever do besides take a 9-iron to Eldrick and his Escalade? SHE didn't get caught doing shit. SHE wasn't the one sleeping in the damn Florida street. SHE wasn't the one whoring around - she's the victim, remember? Besides, if Hyde won't let young, super-hot blondes with $100M in the door, ...who gets inside?
