Edward Snowden is now leaking top secret documents that appear to have nothing to do
with the NSA eavesdropping on Americans, and everything to do with hurting the United States’
national security position vis-a-vis Russia before a key Obama-Putin summit.
Snowden is now leaking documents showing that in 2009 the US intercepted communications
from then-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who was attending the G20 Summit in London.
The Snowdon leaks come one day before Obama is to meet with Putin at the G8 summit.
The Guardian is reporting in a second story, also leaked by Snowden, that during the same summit,
British intelligence was surreptitiously monitoring foreign politicians as well.
But Snowden didn’t stop there. He also leaked documents showing that British intelligence
planned to spy on delegates to the Commonwealth summit.
Think Snowdon will go so far as to stage his own murder?

Radioactive waste unearthed by hydraulic fracturing is becoming a serious problem in Ohio, a new report claims.
Released Thursday by the FreshWater Accountability Project Ohio, the report was authored by Marvin Resnikoff,
a physicist at the University of Michigan and senior associate at Radioactive Waste Management Associates.
Resnikoff points to what he says is a failure to properly dispose of radioactive waste from fracking, saying that
these wastes make their way into municipal landfills in Ohio -- costing the natural gas industry one-hundredth
of what the nuclear industry pays to dispose of similar, low-level radioactive waste.
"It is evident that environmental concerns are trumped by the economics beneficial to the unconventional
shale drilling industry,” Resnikoff said.
He also says the industry simply doesn’t want to take responsibility for the radioactive waste it produces.
Radioactive poison in our water and air - and the Democrats are fine with that.
"Speaking up is bad - rocking the boat is wrong!"

Six in 10 disapprove of how Obama is handling government surveillance of U.S. citizens,
which is higher than the 52% who disapproved of George W. Bush on the same issue in 2006,
when government surveillance was also in the headlines.

Koresh forbid that you have an opinion that doesn't fit the progressive orthodoxy
that people want to stop visiting your website as if you are a traitor.
Your are correct when you say that Dems love stabbing one another in the back. Not only do you
allow opposing points of view, most of the political cartoons you have put up oppose your point of view.
I was always worried about the U.S. Government's role as Big Brother but I believe it is any asshole
with a phone camera that uploads something that is candid on YouTube or Facebook.
It's as if we can't have private moments anymore. Case in point: after Justin Rose finished his
last hole at the U.S. Open, he made a gesture toward heaven and was probably acknowledging
his late Dad and appeared to be crying. But the fucking camera couldn't leave that alone and
followed him into the clubhouse to see if he was still crying. WTF?
In regards to liberals who are going to sit out the 2014 elections, Obama has been disappointing
on things that I consider cherished Liberal ideals but letting the Rethugs get more power is going
to be as if we are living back in the 1950's.
Look at what they are doing in regards to abortion. Soon we will be to living in a Christian Theocracy.
Is that what you all really want? It's not a perfect world out there, and as you say Bartcop, it's like living
by Central Park and wanting a pony. You are not Dick Cheney and you have a heart of gold.

The Supreme Court ruled on Monday in a 7-to-2 decision that Arizona may not require
documentary proof of citizenship from people seeking to vote in federal elections there.
The ruling was the second in two terms to reject Arizona laws that the state’s officials justified
as responses to illegal immigration. In both cases, the court insisted that the federal government
has the dominant role when it comes to national issues like controlling the borders and how
federal elections are conducted.
Tens of thousands of Arizonans have been denied the ability to vote because they failed to present
the required evidence when they tried to register.
“The decision really puts another barrier in front of those who would seek to suppress votes,”
said Thomas A. Saenz, president of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund.
But John Kavanagh, a racist Republican, said the federal government had not done enough.
“Arizona has a serious problem with illegal immigration, being one of the leading illegal entry states."
he said. “Not being able to request proof makes that impossible.”
