And that's because Scalia says that the majority in the DOMA ruling was unlike any majority that this court has ever produced, that it was filled with venom and rage. -- the vulgar Pigboy, getting everything backwards, like always, Link So, Pigboy and Scalia say liberals gave people more rights using venom and rage? That doesn't sound right, Rush, because all the venom and rage we're seeing is from the losers in the case and that would be you hateful bigots and racists. Send e-mail to Bart Rick Perry, Turning Texas Blue by National Journal Link Texas leads the nation in failing to provide health insurance. About one in four Texans are uninsured, the highest percentage in any state. That’s some 6 million people, the total population of Missouri. Yet Rick Perry, back from his stumbles in the 2012 race, has insisted that Texas will not accept the federal money provided by Obamacarecare. As Republican governors from Arizona to New Jersey have joined the program, Perry has amplified his opposition. In a bristling speech to conservatives last week, he said governors who accepted the money had “folded in the face of federal bribery.” Rick perry doesn't care how many Texans die from a lack of heath care. Off-mic, I'll bet Perry is saying "We don't need no nigger health care in Texas." That's how racist dogs talk about Obama when the mics and cameras are turned off. How do I know? I live in Oklahoma. Six millions people without health care, 13M women in that state, if Texans voted for their own interests, they'd elect Wendy Davis as Governor and have full health care. But nooooooooooooo. They'd rather be "Texans" than have negro health care. Sarah, thanks for that. Please continue to call the GOP's likely presidential front-runner "Judas." Hillary will win 66 states. Trayvon's Friend Smacks Lawyer I got my wish - she fought back and won Link with video Zimmerman’s attorney suggested Trayvon lied in a phone call just minutes before he was shot. “Of course, you don’t know if he was telling the truth or not,” attorney Don West insisted to witness Rachel Jeantel, who was on the phone with Martin just minutes before Zimmerman killed him. “Why would he need to lie about that, sir?” Jeantel asked. “Maybe he decided to assault George Zimmerman and he didn’t want you to know about it,” West said. “That’s real retarded, Sir,” Jeantel pointed out. The barking lawyer said, "What did you say?" “That’s real retarded, to do that, Sir,” Jeantel pointed out. “Trayvon did not know him.” ha ha That's the coolest thing I've seen in a while. Rachel got the better of Mr. Smarty Pants lawyer in that exchange and I wished I'd seen it live. Mainstream Pot Confounds Obama He's just itching to bust those dirty hippies Link It took 50 years for American attitudes about marijuana to zigzag from "Reefer Madness" to Woodstock back to the hard line of "Just Say No." Now, in just a few short years, public opinion has moved so dramatically toward general acceptance that even those who champion legalization are surprised at how quickly attitudes are changing and states are moving to approve the drug — for medical use and just for fun. It is a moment in America that is rife with contradictions: —People are looking more kindly on marijuana even as science reveals more about the drug's potential dangers, particularly for young people. Horseshit - nobody said kids should smoke, but street dealers are criminals, so they sell to kids. Sell it in drugstores and check IDs - problem solved. Don't manufacture a crsis when there isn't one. —States are giving the green light to the drug in direct defiance of Obama's endless dithering. —Exploration of the potential medical benefit is limited by high federal hurdles to research. True, they can't do research because the fools classified pot with heroin and LSD. Gee, why not include aspirin in that group, too? Obama seems reluctant to deal with any of it. Yes, he's so afraid his young daughters will get hooked on "the Devil's weed." I thought you'd be a better parent than that, Barack. Our president needs some education on this subject and he needs to learn how to make decisons based on science and logic and not on his fear of the unknown. Send e-mail to Bart Republicans won't allow America to move forward. BTW, why is EVERY news show and Sunday talk show sponsored by BIG OIL and BIG PHARMA? Quotes "No matter how many more days my life contains, I remain dedicated to the fight for justice..." -- Edward Snowden, hero and martyr Link You gotta love this guy - he's as patriotic as Patrick Henry. He's as giving as Jesus Christ. He's as deluded as the Red Rascal. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Discourse and ideals You know that you can't please everyone, so we all do what is our best for a complicated part of history! Del Z Del, thanks for that. I can't blame you for not having an opinion. A spy steals secrets from his country and runs to the enemy with them. Who knows how serious the spy's crimes were? Send e-mail to Bart Quotes "Sad day for our nation; founding fathers would be ashamed of our gen. to abandon wisdom of the ages re: cornerstone of strong societies," -- Chick-fil-A owner Dan Cathey, on how much he hates gays, Link This poor confused bastard can't help himself. He deleted the tweet afterwards, but not before somebody grabbed it. New Vatican Corruption Scandal Link A Vatican official was arrested Friday by Italian police for trying to bring 20 million euros ($26 million) in cash into the country from Switzerland aboard an Italian government plane, his lawyer said. Monsignor Nunzio Scarano, already under investigation in a purported money-laundering plot involving the Vatican bank, is accused of fraud, corruption and slander stemming from the plot, which never got off the ground, attorney Silverio Sica told The Whore AP. It was the latest financial scandal to hit the Vatican and came just two days after Pope Francis created a commission of inquiry into the Vatican bank to get to the bottom of the problems that have plagued it for decades and contributed to damaging the Vatican's reputation. Gee, who would've thought this worldwide rape organization would be money smugglers, too? Catholics F-ing Caught AGAIN Cardinal hid $57M from child rape victims Link The Archdiocese of Milwaukee released more than six thousand documents Monday, part of a deal with lawyers representing 570 people who have lawsuits pending against the Catholic rapists there. Dolan was appointed by the Vatican to clean up the Archdiocese in 2002, (Sure, he was!) after the Church’s sexual abuse crisis among the clergy exploded in the United States, and then, around all the world. One of the documents was a letter written by then-Archbishop Dolan to the Vatican in 2007, seeking permission to transfer money from a cemetery fund into a trust. Dolan wrote, “By transferring these assets to the trust, I foresee an improved protection of these funds from any legal claim and liability.” The Vatican approved the transfer, during a time when hundreds of lawsuits were being filed against the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. OF COURSE the Vatican approved the money-smuggling. That means they can pay off another 1,000 or so child rape victims. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Snowden Bart, unless he had (the hard drives) surgically implanted and didn't go to sleep while in Hong Kong, chances are that the disks have been cloned, with or without Snowden's permission or knowledge. Even friendly countries will do this with media brought into the country. Considering his level of clearance, he was undoubtedly briefed on this at some point during his employment. If he took the machines into a foreign country, he provided an opportunity for the compromise of sensitive material. Even if he selectively leaked only documents exposing bad behavior on the part of the administration, the remaining data on the disks could prove incredibly damaging. mj Subject: Snowden "I'm not going to be scrambling jets to get a 29-year-old hacker." -- Obama, talking about the thief who stole NSA computers, via CNN So which is it Bart? Is Obama lying or is Snowden simply not the threat he is portrayed to be? Really? You think Obama should scramble jets and attack Moscow's airport? He should shoot down or hijack the plane the thief is on? I'm sure glad you're not our president. Ever think that maybe Snowden doesn’t have anything the Russians or Chinese want because they already know about it? You're right - Snowden could be a big fat liar who's fooled all of you, but the available evidence suggests he's done serious harm to America's security. BTW, why are you OK with him flying four NSA computers to Russia? You're such a strict constitutionalist that you're OK with treason? And you’re so worried that maybe Snowden isn’t lying...but he’s not. He has exposed the very depth of this colossal cluster-fluck CIA & DOJ would call a domestic-spying program and naturally they are quite upset about it. After all it’s not the first time their lies and deception have been exposed for our country and the world to see. And I’m really worried you are swallowing their horseshit whole with no chaser. Justin Justin, I'll make you a deal: If we ever get a resolution to this, and it turns out you were right and Snowdon's a big hero, (1) I'll apologize, (2) I'll say you were right and I was wrong and (3) I'll ask forgiveness for being so gullible. Now what will YOU do when I'm proven right? Like I said, I got cash money that says I'm right about Snowden. I just can't figure a way to structure the bet. Snowden might come home if... His dad has put together a list of demands I don't mean to pick on Snowden's Dad, who's surely going thru hell watching his son attack the United States, but that photo is about as sincere as this one. That cute little boy didn't attack America and nobody tried to take Heston's musket. Link The father of Edward Snowden is laying out arrangements that he believes would convince his son to give himself up. Lonnie Snowden had his lawyer draft a letter which requested that Snowden (1) remain free prior to his trial, (2) not have a gag order placed on him, and (3) to be tried in the place of his own choosing. The letter says that if any of these demands are broken, the prosecution against Snowden would be dropped. Yeah, that's going to happen - expecially after all the harm's been done. Edwards wants to be free to go on Left-wing talk shows and trash Obama and taint the jury before his trial. But I kinda agree with number three. No, Snowden can't tour the country and then demand that he be tried in the city where he got the most applause BUT I can see why he doesn't want to be tried in Fairfax Virginia, where (according to Julian Assange) 99% of all suspects are indicted AND 99 percent of the indicted are found guilty. I remember Virginia's "Rocket Docket" from the Susan McDougal/Julie Steele days. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: nasty Zimmerman lawyer Bart, I’m an actual trial lawyer and the a-hole is grandstanding to get more clients….actual criminals –his pool of clients in the future--like “tough” lawyers and don’t have a clue that the “tough” lawyer will likely get them convicted using the bullying tactics that look so cool to criminals. Send e-mail to Bart ESPN Makes a Small Mistake Called murder suspect "Aaron Rodgers" Link Mistakes happen once in a while, especially when you're doing live television. ESPN's Jeremy Schaap was providing analysis of the Aaron Hernandez murder charges live as Hernandez was being transported to jail when he mistakenly talked about the evidence that might be "implicating Aaron Rodgers." And it probably would have passed with a double take and a chuckle, but Rodgers followed that with a simple tweet. Send e-mail to Bart Did I hear that right? Zimmerman: "He had his hand over my mouth and nose and he was banging my head into the sidewalk." But Vigilante, if he had one hand over your mouth and nose, how was he banging your head into the ground? I could understand if Trayvon grabbed your hair with one had and covered your mouth with the other hand but Vigilante, you were BALD when you murdered the unarmed Skittles buyer. How do you beat a larger, bald man's head into the ground with one hand? BTW, how can Zimmerman claim he was "standing his ground" if he didn't even know what street he was on? He was obviously in a neighborhood with which he was not familiar. Send e-mail to Bart . In attendance at the event was Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, since 2006 the leader of the country Human Rights Watch describes as “among the most repressive in the world.” Towards the end of the concert Lopez, “graciously obliged” a request from the concert’s host to sing “Happy Birthday” to Berdimuhamedow. Her choice to sing directly to Berdimuhamedow caused an uproar, with critics questioning why someone ranked No. 12 on Forbes’s 2013 list of the most powerful celebrities who has also worked on human rights issues would agree to the tribute. What can she say? "I'm too stupid and too lazy and too thoughtless to bother to use Google before accepting a VERY, VERY large check?" Send e-mail to Bart Subject: The Gauntlet on DOMA If the so-called Christian right want to live in a religio-theocracy, great. Throw down the gauntlet. Either they add a blanket ban on divorce, or they need to shut the fuck up. Nobody is coming in their church asking them to condone, conduct, or religiously recognizing two fags getting married, but on the other hand, there are churches that will perform a non legally binding ceremony for fags all day long. I really don't see this as anything other than a bunch of crap to distract from Obama's strengthening of Bush's police state/war machine. By the way I don't celebrate homosexuality. I feel sorry for those fucked up people. Andy in NC Andy, maybe the answer lies in everybody minding their own f-ing business. The intolerant Christian Right hasn't lost anything here, they just pretend they did. Why in the world would you say Obama strengthened of Bush's police state/war machine? Is there evidence for that or did you just feel like screaming at the Democratic president? I can't speak for gays, but I believe they see themselves as normal, but different. If you think gay Americans are "fucked up" people maybe you should find a different page to frequent. But then, you're from Carolina, where that shit is pretty rampant, like in Oklahoma. Send e-mail to Bart Today's Wildlife Photo Link Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Snowden Bart, You're not alone on Snowden. It's OK to be fearful of a government intent on running roughshod over privacy, but committing treason is not how you fight it. Not to mention the misinformation accepted as fact by most people is outrageous. I recently overheard a guy say "The government is listening in on all our phone calls." Absolutely no comprehension of the steps that need to be taken to even get a warrant, never mind get the actual calls or a tap.
