For Barnes & Noble For Amazon Quotes "If Syria responds with chemical weapons, Israel may respond asymmetrically." -- Ariel Cohen of the Heritage Foudation Link By "asymmetrically," he means if Syria pulls a knife, Israel will NOT pull a knife, they will pull a gun, which is this case is a nuclear gun. I sure am glad Snowden got to be famous, so he could throw gas on this nuclear fire. Send e-mail to Bart We don't need no Negrocare TBs would rather die than let a Negro help them Link Two very rich tea party congressmen, both with net worths well in excess of $1 million, say they will forego having the government help pay for their insurance, and one of them has decided his staff can, too. Easy for them to decide. Maybe a little harder for an average staffer. Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., who is leading the conservative effort in the House to oppose legislation to fund the government unless it includes a rider zeroing out money for Negrocare, says he and his staff would decline federal subsidies to purchase insurance on the exchanges, which open for enrollment in October. Meadows joins fellow racist Rep. Robert Pittenger, who announced late last week that he too will decline Negrocare, and that he’s cosponsoring legislation that would prohibit any member of Congress from receiving such assistance. Meadows had a net worth in 2011 up to $12 million and Pittenger's is up to $48 million. Obviously this is a huge sacrifice on their part. Nice of Meadows to commit his staff to that political statement, too. Zippy: Florida Owes me $200K Can't afford that fun he had shooting Trayvon Link Lawyers for George Zimmerman, the scumbag that murdered Trayvon Martin, plan to ask the state to reimburse Zimmerman for at least $200,000 of expenses incurred during his trial. Under f-ing crazy Florida law, an acquitted defendant cannot be held liable for court costs or any charges while detained in custody, as long as a clerk or judge consents to the refund. The costs may include money spent for expert witnesses, travel expenses and fees for transcripts. "We're probably going to ask for somewhere between $200,000 and $300,000," lawyer Mark O'Mara said. If he wasn't a lazy slug, Zippy could get BIG paydays such as writing a book, or any money resulting from a defamation lawsuit against NBC News or FOX News could pay for intereviews or Zippy's life story. Subject: Obama/Syria What do you suggest Obama could have done two years ago to stem the Syria crisis fer chrissake? You sound like a back seat driver who bears no responsibility for the consequences of bad advice. Fortunato in Honduras There was a time when the rebels were clearly winning. Obama could've sent in a few cruise missles/drones/whatever and turned the tide BEFORE Russia and Iran and Hezbollah and Hamas and everyone else got involved. He chose to dither, instead, and now he's got on-edge Pooty warning him to chill. Plus, I'd call 100,000 dead "consequences," wouldn't you? Send e-mail to Bart Free Math Tutoring

Beck Hates Eco-Light Bulbs Says he'll fire anyone caught saving energy Link Do anything to combat global warming in Glenn Beck’s office? You’re fired. To prove whay a dick he is about global warming, which Beck labels a “load of socialist, communist crap,” the right-wing racist announced his war against energy-efficient light bulbs. On air, he asked a staffer to write a memo that threatened to fire anyone caught using one. "I'm dead serious," Beck said on his radio program, as his employees titter nervously. His employees titter? "I fire the person that starts to purchase fluorescent light bulbs, unless that is the only light bulb for a very specific reason, and I want to be cc'd on what that reason is." How about to light a dark room? Is that reason enough? But Beck’s vendetta against eco-friendly office supplies doesn’t end there. He told one worker not to purchase any more recyclable spoons, either. Sounds to me like Glenn Beck would rather send young Americans to die in the sands of the Middle East rather than try to save a little energy. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: best wishes bart, I hope you had fun in California. I hope every day is fun for you and rewarding and wonderful. I hope you change your mind about Snowden and Manning. If it is a criminal act to expose the crimes of our government, we are all in big trouble. But if you don't change your mind, I don't care. I still wish you nothing but the best. It has still been a privilege to know you all these years, and a ton of fun to read your page. Best wishes, brew ps. I was going to give you a contribution, but then I realized you were worse than Cheney... ha ha Thanks, buddy. Send e-mail to Bart Jesse: Baggers are new Confederacy "They oppose Obama because he's Black" Link The Tea Party has more than a few critics in Washington and outside it, but Jesse Jackson leveled a very specific criticism at the bastards — that their sole objection to Obama is that he his black. It’s not a new Tea Party criticism, but in a larger reflection on race, politics, and Obama’s presidency, Jesse Jackson said the Tea Party is more like a resurgence of confederate thinking. In the piece titled “Obama, Race And Class,” Jackson charged: “The tea party is the resurrection of the Confederacy, it’s the Fort Sumter tea party.” Race is a touchy issue for the Obama administration, Tea Party notwithstanding. The President has a hard time even saying things related to race or racial disparity without invoking the ire of many white Americans, and his comments recently about the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin trial sparked ire and vitriol from the right-wing press. Jesse is free to say the things Obama can't say - so he does. The Teabaggers are racists from head-to-toe and you know it, I know it, Bob Dole knows it (God rest his soul) and the American people know it. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Syria is a mistake We should not get involved in Syria without a plan. First - we are making an assumption that Assad is the one who gassed those people. But we have no evidence. Both sides have had access to those weapons. If you don't think it through one might assume Assad was behind it. But when you think about it he gassed civilians, not fighters. That would gain him nothing and invite the wrath of the world. Not a smart move. However if one of the rebel factions like Al Qaeda gassed the civilians then they could draw America into the war to lsucker us do their fighting for them. With Assad out of the way they could take over. That seems much more likely because they would have something to gain at our expense. So I think we should hold off. Obama doesn't need to prove his manhood to the Republicans. We should not attack without a plan. You think that after Iraq we would have learned something. Broader Stakes in Syria Crisis by Ray McGovern at Consortiumnews.com Link Amid the increased likelihood that Obama will cave in to pressure from foreign policy hawks... You see? You can already tell this deck is stacked. Consortiumnews.com HATES Obama and, it seems, every decision he makes. After telling all those lies to get him elected, they turned on him, too? ...to “Libya-ize” Syria and to accord Assad the same treatment meted out to Gaddafi, the main question is WHY? Obviously, there is concern about the human rights catastrophe in Syria, but is the main target Syria’s main ally, Iran, as many suspect? Ray, are you foirgetting the 100,000 dead, mostly civilians? Your secret decoder ring tells you this is all about Iran, not the dead 100,000? Sometimes an atrocity is just an atrocity. Surely, the objective has got to be more than simply giving John Kerry a chance to brag, in the manner of his predecessor, Hillary Clinton, regarding Gaddafi, “We came, we saw, he died.” That horseshit writing belongs on Newsmax or World Net Daily. Looks like McGovern wants to "be cute" more than he wants to persuade, We are supposed to take McGovern seriously, right? Or is he goofing on us with that cute-sy horseshit writing? And if there's anybody Consortiumnews.com hates more than Obama, it's Hillary, spawn of the Devil. I'm so old, I remember when Consortiumnews.com used to say nice things about Democrats. And, there is little expectation – however many Cruise missiles the United States fires at Syrian targets in a fury over disputed claims about chemical weapons – that lives are likely to be saved. There are those who dispute the Holocaust too, Ray. You're saying Obama reads intelligence memos like Bush did? I disagree. So, what are Iran’s new leaders likely to see as the real driving force behind Obama’s felt need to acquiesce, again, in a march of folly? And why does it matter? So they're saying Obama CAN'T be right about taking action against a madman using WMDs? And any action Obama takes is PROOF that he's Israel's puppet and secretly in a cabal with Cheney? Doesn't that mean that Parry and McGovern are saying they know as much as Obama about this situation? Are the neocons in Washington revving up to nip in the bud any unwelcome olive branches from the Iran’s new leaders as new talks on nuclear matters loom on the horizon? Really? Iran's all about peace and love and mean old Obama-the-warmonger has an insatiable taste for blood? Sidebar: There is a sizeable chunk of the Democratic party that thinks, when it comes to foreign policy and the use of the military that it is ALWAYS best to do absolutely nothing. That's crazy. "Fighting is ALWAYS wrong" seems to be our motto, sometimes. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Ray McGovern has a whole pile of smoking guns This impending idiocy in Syria has all the dominoes lined up ready to splat, and America will be seen as the next Germany in the eyes of history. Really? Slapping the guy who's killing with poison gas makes us just like Hitler? American Exceptionalism is why we accept it, just as the Germans were superior they watched their leader take them into ruin. Julian Odds are my readers will agree with you - I just can't see it. When did stopping genocide (with no American casualties) become "idiocy?" SIMPLE QUESTION: Is it ALWAYS best to DO NOTHING with our military? Send e-mail to Bart I'd like to hear from a lot of people on that. Just reply with "Simple Question" and YES or NO Opinions, as always, are welcome. S F W
The first 2 paragraphs say "Obama is Bush." I disagree. So what is the "correct" Democratic position on Syria? It goes without saying that backing our Democratic president is a non-starter. Truthout seems to be saying we shouldn't even fire one missle at the guy who is using poison gas to begint the killing of his second hundred thousand people? Or maybe we should wait until Assad killes 500,000 people, THEN get involved? BTW, how is Truthout getting tax-deductible donations? Wish I could claim that... Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Mitch the Bitch Hey Bart, You asked, retorically, "Somewhere I read that Mitch the Bitch was now worth $26 million dollars. How did he manage to amass that fortune on a senator's salary?" The answer is quite simple. To paraphrase Harry Truman, if you get rich in politics, you're a crook. Period. End of discussion. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: "If he doesn't like making decisions, why did he run for the presidency?" Bart: Maybe he was running to govern the USA, not Syria.
