Obama Talks to Iran

Obama spoke with Iran President Hasan Rouhani by phone, the first top-level U.S.-Iranian
contact in more than three decades. Obama said he and Rouhani discussed the standoff over
Iran's nuclear program and directed their teams to negotiate a possible agreement in which
Iran would forswear the ability to develop nuclear weapons.
"While there will surely be important obstacles to moving forward, and success is by no means
guaranteed, I believe we can reach a comprehensive solution," Obama said.
The United States has said it will not allow Iran to develop the means to make nuclear weapons;
Iran said its nuclear program is designed for peaceful energy programs.
Rouhani confirmed the phone conversations in a series of Twitter messages, saying in one that
"in regards to nuclear issue, with political will, there is a way to rapidly solve the matter."
In another tweet, Rouhani told Obama: "I express my gratitude for your hospitality and your
phone call. Have a good day Mr President."
Just think of the slurs Democrats have hurled at Obama in the last 30 days.
"Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize was a fucking joke."
"Obama is nothing more than Cheney's third term."
"Obama the evil warmonger needs to be impeached."

I think a lot of liberals, especially the "professional" kind, want to prove
they're "more liberal than thou". I've been watching this shit for a long time.
When I was young, we couldn't stand Hubert Humphrey because he wasn't
liberal enough (if only we had a Congress full of Humphreys today).
I was guilty at the time, but over the last 45 years, I've gotten a little wiser.
For god's sake, Obama's OUR guy. WE voted for him.
He's smart, thoughtful, compassionate and practical.
He sees the big picture and worries about the long haul.
I'm as angry as you at these purist twerps who keep fragging the president.
It makes them feel like big shots, but I'm not impressed.

According to latest SoonerPoll results, Oklahomans are ready to consider marijuana for medicinal
purposes and decriminalization. The poll had support for medical marijuana at 71% and support
for decriminalization at 57%The poll did not ask about legalization.
When considering arrest for a marijuana offense, 64% said they should be treated instead of jailed.
Under current Oklahoma law, possession of any amount can earn one up to a year in jail for a
first offense and from two to 10 years for a second offense. Marijuana sales—of any amount
—can earn a sentence of up to life in prison.
The state’s largest cities were the most in support. In Oklahoma City and Tulsa, support for
medical marijuana was higher than 75%, and support for decriminalization was at 67% in Tulsa
and at 63% in Oklahoma City.
Note: Tulsa us the Paris of Oklahoma.
Oklahoma may be THE most backwards state in all of America, (Inhofe, Coburn, Largent, etc)
so I don't see them showing signs of sanity when it comes to marijuana laws.
Seems to me Colorado is the big winner here. People will move to Colorado over this issue, especially
if you live in a backwards hellhole where possession of ANY amount can get you a year in a cage.
People will also vacation in Colorado. Look for Colorado 's convention business to go boom.
The states that do it the soonest are going to make the most money.

Subject: Debt ceiling analogy
Here's an analogy for the total morons who think government budgeting is anything like
household budgeting (which it is not, unless you have a legal money printing press in your basement).
But anyway, here it goes:
The husband and wife fight over how their income should be spent, and on what.
The husband wants to buy lap dances, beer and power tools ("the essentials").
The wife wants to buy food, clothing, medical care and pay the rent.
They argue and argue, but they both finally agree to do everything the wife wants
plus buy beer for the husband. But the husband goes out and racks up a few big nights
at the titty bar anyway, paying with his credit card. He also buys some power tools and
a cool Colt Python on credit. When the credit card bills come due, he goes to the wife
and says "I am not going to pay the credit card bills unless you agree to spend less in the
future on food and rent. Oh, and by the way, I turned down a raise at the office, because
- after all - we don't have an earning problem, we have a spending problem."
If you were in such a relationship, you would have the husband committed, or at least
divorce his sorry ass. You certainly wouldn't agree to his stupid demands to forgo food
for lap dances, power tools and handguns.

Cassidy Wolf and other women to extort nude photos and videos from them, with authorities
contending he forced several women to strip.
Jared James Abrahams of Temecula surrendered to the FBI to face a charge of extortion that could

He was later freed on $50,000 bail but a judge confined him to his family home, ordered him to wear
a GPS monitor, and said he could only use the home computer for schoolwork, with software to be
installed that will monitor its use.
It's tough to be a woman these days. If you have a web cam, you have to cover the lens with black tape
when you're not using it because guys WILL hack you and tape you walking around your house nude.
When you check into a hotel, you should cover the peep hole with black tape.
Sportcaster Erin Andrews had the bad luck to find out the hard way.
When you go to a tanning booth, assume some pervert has a hidden camera and is watching you.
If you swim at a friend's pool, assume your friend's pervert kid has a camera in the pool house.
If you try on clothes at Sears or K-Mart, look for the hidden camera in the changing room.
If you shower after a tennis match, look for the camera in the locker room - they're everywhere.
If you go to a guy's place for sex, assume he's got hidden cameras in his bedroom
and assume that video will be online before you even get home.

Subject: Obama doesn't need Congress to stop a government shutdown
President Obama doesn't need to allow Congress to shut down the government if congress fails
to pass a budget. The President has emergency powers he can use and he can keep America running
but executive order and he should set a precedent and just do it.
What am I talking about? Obama has the power against an attack without the consent of Congress
under the theory that as commander in chief he has to protect America from imminent danger.
Likewise in the case of a hurricane or flood he can act immediately to avoid any kind of national crisis.
A government shutdown is a national crisis. Obama could just order the equivalent of a continuing
resolution rather that allow America to be help hostage because Congress failed to do their job in time.
Congress has a duty to pass a budget or pass a continuing resolution by October 1st. To deliberately
shut down the government would be an act of treason against the American people. So since we are
going to believe that no one would intentionally harm America by doing that then what we have is a
temporary emergency and the President can constitutionally act in a temporary emergency just as he
would in a natural disaster or an attack on America.
This wouldn't replace the budget process. Congress still has a duty to pass a budget.
But it would allow the country to continue to run until Congress completes its job.
Obama not only has the power to do it, he has a duty to do it.

and signed into law by the president. Without proselytizing at all, everyone immediately realizes
what an absurd exercise in futility all this nonsense really is.”
A narrow Republican majority in the House can’t void the Affordable Care Act
any more than 54 Senate Democrats can force everybody in Oklahoma to eat broccoli. ha ha

As you know, Montana is a BIG state—4th after Alaska, Texas and California—and not everyone
is as clueless as the judge in the case of the two-weeks-and-a-day-is-all-you-pay for rape.
I live in Western Montana and there are times when it is hard to claim some of those Montanans in the East.
They feel the same about me, I expect. But how twisted do you have to be to say a 14 year old girl
“was old beyond her age” and then send a guy to jail for raping her for 15 days???

he voted for $39 billion in cuts from the federal food stamp program, while spending over
$1,000 in taxpayer money on meals for himself.
Based on records from the Chief Administrative Office of the House, Progress Now New Mexico,
charges that Rep. Pearce has used taxpayer-funded office accounts more than 30 times to pay for
over $1,000 in meals in the past year, and is launching a campaign to pressure the congressman to
reimburse his constituents for the charges.
Considering that Pearce has been a vocal supporter of food stamp cuts — and recently told federal
workers at risk of losing their jobs over the sequester to “Get efficient” and “Tighten your belt and
you’ll find yourself a winner as these cuts happen” — his actions are the height of hypocrisy.

weapon necessary to stab Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, in the back, Newsbusters reported Wednesday.
“And wing nut radio host Mark Levin said yesterday, the Republican leader in the Senate,
Mitch McConnell, just stabbed Ted Cruz and Mike Lee in the back!” Malloy exclaimed.
“Oh, what if that were true?” he asked, changing his metaphor into something of a liberal fantasy.

Don't even get him started on the New York Times which, he says, spends "so much more
time carrying water for Obama than I ever thought they would" – or the death of bin Laden.

His career would've suffered less damage if Hersh said he'd seen Elvis, or had been abducted by aliens.
This makes everything Hersh ever wrote suspect, and that's a sad thing.
To make things worse, Hersh never really explained himself.

When you drop a bomb THAT big on a sitting president, you'd better be able to explain yourself
but it seems Hersh has fallen victim to Obama Derangement Syndrome, the poor bastard.
Until this massive fumble, I would've put Hersh in the Top Ten as journalists go, but now
he's got all the credibility of George Zimmerman after shooting another unarmed Black kid.

NORML is currently leading a contest sponsored by Intuit to have its ad appear during
the Super Bowl. In a genius (at least originally) marketing move, Intuit decided to buy
a $4 million, 30 second ad and allow a small business the chance to market its product.
This was a two-fold win for Intuit – 1) The project itself creates a large social media buzz
and draws more consumers to its company; and 2) It gives people a positive attribution
toward Intuit, leading to more business.
However, Intuit most likely was not prepared for a pro-marijuana legalization group to be
leading the polls: “Intuit leadership is surely wringing their collective hands over the matter.
Though marijuana isn’t as taboo a subject since its legal approval in varying states, it is the
equivalent to a scarlet letter — albeit one tainted green — that their brand is now forced to wear.
Such is the danger to brands who go the contest route,” stated branding expert Peter Madden.

I find your criticism of David Swanson and Dave Lindorf's take on Obama's UN speech a bit offensive.
You shouldn't because I was right on target.
You imply that slamming a Democratic president is or should be taboo for those of us claiming to be
liberal/progressive/whatever. The issue has nothing to do with not supporting a Democrat. It is about
opposing the imperialistic war mongering policies of the government no matter who is pushing them.
That is standing on principle not bashing a Democrat. You imply they didn't do the same with Bush etc.
You couldn't be more wrong. They have been consistent in their criticism of US policy regardless of
which party controlled the WH.

Bart, that's The Beatles with some Greek folk musicians in Arachova, Greece.
The photo was taken by the Whore AP's top Greek photographer, Telis Sarrikwstas.
The Beatles "took a trip" to Greece in 1967 to buy a private island.
The chartered yacht they were supposed to use to cruise the islands was delayed
for a couple of days. Their local contact, a guy by the name of Yanni Alexis Mardas,
arranged tours around the Greek mainland while they waited for the yacht to arrive in Athens.
He apparently also tipped off local news so they could send photographers.
Apparently the Beatles did find one or more islands to buy,
but soon lost interest & sold them for a profit.
