"A friend explained to me today, what Ted Cruz is doing. And I finally understand: He’s having bunny sex.” -- GOP strategist Alex Castellanos, on CNN "Are you high?" -- Anderson Cooper, Link Send e-mail to Bart Cruz Widens GOP Civil War Link The Republicans' clear defeat in the budget-debt brawl has widened the rift between the GOP and the blossoming tea party movement that helped revive it. Implored by Boner to unite and "fight another day" against Americans getting health care, Republicans instead intensified attacks on one another, an ominous sign in advance of more difficult policy fights and the 2014 midterm elections. The GOP movement to strip the poor of health care hit a wall this month in the budget fight, but tea partyers promised to keep up the effort. Mitch the Bitch vowed he would not permit another government shutdown. "I think we have now fully acquainted our new members with what a losing strategy that is," McConnell said in an interview. Cruz said he wouldn't rule out using the tactic again when the same fight come up in January. "I will continue to do anything I can to stop the train wreck that is Obamacare," Cruz said. That divide defined the warring Republican factions ahead of the midterm elections, when 35 seats in the Senate and all 435 seats in the House will be on the ballot. And what could be better for Democrats than having the wild dogs tearing at each other's throats? Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Sweet corn A while back you were toying with moving to Portland, OR You also seem to love sweet corn Wash State #1 in Sweet Corn Production Maybe you should look into the TriCities area of Washington instead. It’s a rather conservative place but probably not as much as OK. Dude, Tehran isn't as conservative as Oklahoma. And it is only a couple of hours from both Portland and Seattle and it doesn’t rain nearly as much as Portland, and it is as warm as OK in the summer (it’s a desert). Plus housing is much much cheaper. Scott Scott, thanks for that. As I mentioned last week, Oklahoma just had a new pot law go into effect. They can charge you with DUI if you smoked legally weeks ago. That makes me want to leave., along with the tornadoes and the 110-degree summers The biggest thing holding us here is Mrs. Bart's job and the health care that provides. Maybe if they get Obamacare working we could afford to escape this dusty hellhole? BTW, where is the TriCity area? Send e-mail to Bart GOP Civil War 'Just
Getting Started"
That's music to my ears - let's hear more Link With the government shutdown and debt ceiling fight in the rearview mirror, Republicans can move on to more important matters — like determining which of the party's warring factions will control the GOP. The recent fighting ostensibly pit Republicans against Democrats, but the real power struggle was between Tea Partiers and the GOP establishment. The conflict, bubbling beneath the surface for some time, finally boiled over into a messy public spat that, even as the shutdown came to a close, showed no signs of stopping. The fissure has been growing since 2010, when the Tea Party ousted establishment candidates in favor of their own contenders. What was then a populist revolt has since rocketed congressional neophytes like Ted Cruz to the forefront of the party, giving the hard right newfound legislative muscle. Just look at how Cruz and company dragged the party into a shutdown strategy that even Karl Rove said "no sentient being" believed would ever work. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Cruz Natural Born Citizen I think the assertion that this nut job is Constitutionally ineligible is wrong. I believe his mother is/was at the time of his birth an American citizen, and therefore he was a citizen from birth. Since this tool was born abroad to (I believe) one US citizen-parent, the Congressional Research Service would apparently argue that he is eligible. Sorry I am no monkey, but I think he has at least a reasonable argument for this position. Remember, McCain was born in Panama...though I think that was on a US military base. Still, it's not on US soil. NJMark Mark, you are correct. Senator Nutjob is legally eligible to run but it's a problem for Teabaggers. They've been screaming "Kenyan" at Obama for so long, they won't want us screaming "President Cruz isn't legally elected" so it could cost him, there. Send e-mail to Bart Snowden: "Russia got nothing from me" Link Edward Snowden insists he couldn't have handed any US national security secrets to Russia because he didn't bring any with him on his flight to Moscow in June. Snowden says he gave all the stolen NSA files he'd fled with to journalists, presumably Glenn Greenwald and Laura Poitras, whom he met with in Hong Kong in June. "It wouldn’t serve the public interest," he said with a straight face. "What would be the unique value of personally carrying another copy of the materials onward?" "There’s a zero percent chance the Russians or Chinese have received any documents," he added. I feel better. I mean, if we can't trust a guy who broke his National Security oath and stole state secrets and then fled to China and Russia, who can we trust? BTW, what's the unique value of leaving Paradise after stabbing your country in the back and then fleeing to communist countries with our state secrets in an attempt to be famous? Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Honestly The Obamacare roll out is a catastrophe, my state premiums are up 52% for a man over 50 and 97% for age 27. My deductible WILL be 12,700 and my premiums are 5,700 per year. So why not stay with the plan you're currently on? That is from the exchange, not Limbaugh et al so don't go there. Right now, the pilot group will not need to sign up, but our insurance company may drop itself from the biz all together then I will HAVE to sign up. So, right now there's no problem, but you're anticipating a problem in the future - so you scream at Obama? I'd rather pay cash, get a major med plan, but I will be fined and imprisoned by the IRS. Really? Will they come for you in their Black Helicopters? Is the evil Kenyan going to put MILLIONS of poor people in FEMA work camps? Is there any lie that Rush tells that you don't buy, hook, line and sinker? You've got no facts, you've offered no proof and your story makes no sense. If you've been harmed, why can't you show us the harm? My company will be dropping spouse coverage and I only pay 2,400 a year for premiums and 2,000 deduct. I have a Cadillac plan and will be taxed I believe in 2014 for 20 k income that I do not see. That will cost me 6 grand in MORE income tax, that from my accountant. More problems likely to occur in the future so you can bitch about it now? What company are you with? Is it a big company with stockholders to answer to or a Limbaugh-loving, Obama-hating pizza chain owner? Who are "all these companies" who will drop their insurance - and why haven't they done it yet? Did you see the study where Obama-hating Papa Johns Pizza can give every employee health coverage for 27 cents per pizza? Do you think that racist Papa John would rather go out of business OR raise the cost of pizza 50 cents to offset the 27 he's out for insurance? Boo Hoo - Papa Johns is living in Russia! So please tell me again how I was wrong all along...... NONE of the lower cost and keep your plan promises were correct. Do you get that you can't get ANYBODY to see things your way without some facts and some proof? Send me a copy of your current policy front page with your name crossed out. Then send me a screen grab of your "higher" insurance costs, if they exist. If you Obama-haters had some facts on your side, wouldn't America agree with you? And now OBAMA is the single most divisive mean spirited bully I have ever seen in office of any kind.... And you're not biased at all when it comes to this insurance question? You're angry that the poor are getting health care. You're also angry that, under Obama, everyone will have to pay for insurance. You'd think Republicans would like that SINCE IT WAS THEIR IDEA TO BEGIN WITH. He said he would bring us together, we hate him viscerally. Yes, I get that Republicans would stop eating if Obama said, "Food is good for you." There is no compassion for our side at all, " ...you want a new president, go win an election BITCH!" That from the president. Mike the angry white man Once again, you have that all wrong. Obama won the elction because voters liked his health care plan better thean Romney's "Use the emergency room" brand of health care. That's the law now - get over it If you want to change the law, win an election. Bitch - it's that simple. When you Republicans strike out, you always want to take the ball and bat and go home. Do you get that you're not going to win ANY more national elections? Voters don't like crybabies and whiners - they like do-ers like the Democrats. Send e-mail to Bart Shop Online

Is Rape Legal if you Play Football? That seems to be the case in America Link Two high school football players were charged as adults last year after a 14-year-old girl was left on her lawn in freezing weather. But tthen he charges were dropped. In Missouri, a 2012 rape case that never went to trial has put tiny Maryville under siege from state politicians, national journalists and a hackers' collective pledging retribution. Early on Jan. 8, 2012, Melinda Coleman, discovered her 14-year-old daughter, Daisy, sprawled outside her home in 22-degree weather. The girl was incoherent, clad only in a T-shirt and sweatpants, her hair brittle from the cold. Daisy and a 13-year-old friend had snuck out of the Coleman home late the night before to go drinking at a party with some older boys. The 13-year-old, who was back in Daisy's bedroom, said she had been raped. Daisy wasn't sure what had happened. Melinda Coleman called 911 and took both girls to the hospital. Three of the boys at the party, including a 17-year-old linebacker on the high school football team, Matthew Barnett, were arrested. Barnett, who comes from an influential local family, was accused of raping Daisy, and 17-year-old. Jordan Zech was accused of filming part of the incident. A 15-year-old was accused of raping the 13-year-old, who said she had repeatedly told him "no." Barnett and Zech were charged as adults and pleaded not guilty, saying 14-year old Daisy had consented. The younger boy was sent to the juvenile court system. But in March 2012, prosecutor Robert Rice dropped the charges against Barnett and Zech, saying he didn't have enough evidence, The Colemans soon left town, citing harassment, and their home burned down. You have a video of the incident and you're claiming "not enough evidence?" Send e-mail to Bart Maine Flirts with Legal Pot Link Pot advocates are looking to an upcoming vote in Maine as an indicator of whether the East Coast is ready to follow in the footsteps of Colorado and Washington by legalizing cannabis. Voters in Portland are being asked whether they want to make it legal for adults 21 and over to possess — but not purchase or sell — up to 2.5 ounces of pot. The Nov. 5 vote is being eyed nationally as momentum grows in favor of legalizing marijuana use. Wait, if this law passes you can HAVE pot, but you can't GET pot? Houston Chronicle says He's a Real Loser Link We’re not sure how much difference one person could make in the toxic, chaotic, hyperpartisan atmosphere in Washington, but if we could choose just one it would be Kay Bailey Hutchifelon, whose years of service in the Senate were marked by two things sorely lacking in her successor, Ted Cruz. For one thing, Hutchison had an unswerving commitment to the highest and best interests of Texas at all times. …And dare we say it? Dare! Dare! We miss her extraordinary understanding of the importance of reaching across the aisle when necessary. Neither sitting Texas senator has displayed that useful skill, and both the state and the Congress are the poorer for it. …When we endorsed Ted Cruz in last November’s general election, we did so with many reservations and at least one specific recommendation – that he follow Hutchison’s example in his conduct as a senator. Obviously, he has not done so. Cruz has been part of the problem in specific situations where Hutchison would have been part of the solution. Send e-mail to Bart
