"One of the the anti-choice's favorite tactics in our neverending abortion war is to display placards with photos of grotesque fetus corpses, presumably real and presumably the end result of one or another abortion procedure (although some have been shown to be miscarriages). The Rude Pundit won't link to these pictures because, fuck you, this is a family blog." -- Rude Pundit, Link Send e-mail to Bart Only

The GOP's Campaign to Kill ACA If you get health care, the GOP loses Link We've known for quite some time that most Republican governors refused to open health insurance exchanges in their states. 27 states don't have exchanges and therefore uninsured residents are shuffled over to the Healthcare.gov website to buy a policy. However, earlier this month, we learned that Republican Party leadership directly urged those governors not to do it -- chiefly to burden the federal exchange with a heavier load. Worse yet, the ACA contained zero funding for the development and implementation of the site, and there's no way the congressional Republicans would ever authorize more money for it. It's unclear why the federal exchange was unfunded in the law, but one thing's for sure, a House of Representatives that voted 46 times to totally repeal the law wouldn't have coughed up a dime to rectify the oversight. So, what happened? A cash-starved Healthcare.gov development process, which precipitated serious glitches when October 1 rolled around -- problems that should never have occurred. And those glitches might've been exacerbated when right-wing hacktivists reportedly conducted "denial of service" attacks against Healthcare.gov -- deliberate attempts to overwhelm the website's servers. CNN reported on Monday: If Obamacare fails, the insurance companies will be empowered to rape every customer they have. Costs will rise dramatically and they'll pay fewer and fewer claims - because they can. We have no choice - ACA HAS to work or things will be worse than ever. Advertise on bartcop.com Subject: Democrats You sure tore Eric Holder a new one in Wednesday's page, Bart. Good for you. He has done little to nothing to help the homeowners ripped off by the Wall Street Gang. But I couldn't help but notice if you weren't guilty of something you accuse certain Democrats of doing, on almost every page lately: Stabbing Democrats in the back. It sure read like you were stabbing Obama and Holder in the back by exposing their lenient attitudes towards Wall Street crimes... Larry Flynt Shooter Executed Link A white supremacist Republican serial killer who shot Larry Flynt was put to death in Missouri yesterday. Joseph Paul Franklin -- who killed in a bid to start a race war -- was declared dead at 1217 GMT. Franklin was serving several life sentences following his three-year-long killing spree. But he is most infamous for shooting Larry Flynt, leaving Flynt paralyzed in a wheelchair. Flynt wrote last month that he would like to "inflict damage" on Franklin but did not wish to see him die. Flynt said he had been targeted by Franklin "because of a photo spread I ran in Hustler magazine featuring a black man and a white woman. He had bombed several synagogues... He hated blacks, he hated Jews." They are mainly promoting two groups this year: 1. The Citizens Climate Lobby 2. Move to Amend (the Constitution, away from Citizens United) Pachamama Alliance is a good one to send bucks to also. They have a dynamite website and program to speak to others about all these problems. Debbie from Milwaukee Send e-mail to Bart Only

Stew Of course Dennis was right, but I guess I should say it again. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: other sites I contribute to Dear Bart: While your site is my favorite cause and the largest beneficiary of any extra money I might get from time to time, I do recommend one other cause. Earth's Strongest Strains 2012 hightimes.com After implementing our new Cannabis Cup scoring system in April 2011 – which utilizes lab testing as part of the equation – and after four trial runs in cities around the world including San Francisco, Denver, and Amsterdam, we figured we had a pretty good hold on exactly which strains are the most potent on the planet. Here is our list of the world’s strongest sativas, indicas, and hybrids that Ms. Cannabis sativa L. has to offer. Warning: This is definitely not your parents’ pot. OG Ghost Train Haze Southwest Alternative Care, Denver Medical Cannabis Cup The strain with the highest THC came from Denver, CO: It was entered by Southwest Alternative Care and was created and grown by Rare Dankness Genetics. But what exactly is the OG Ghost Train Haze? One might guess she has some OG and some Haze in her. But more accurately this strain has the Haze, as in Neville’s Haze, mixed together with some OG and Trainwreck. For those of you keeping score at home, the exact line looks like this: OG Kush x (Trainwreck x Neville’s Haze). Surprising? Not really. Strong? Tops in ’11. Banana Kush, also found in Denver. I have finally found a way to slow down time. Seems like January will never get here. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: your anti-white sentiment Link You don't want to miss this one. A retirement fund of $14.5 million, combined with Social Security, would generate a monthly retirement check for these CEOs of $88,576. That’s 68 times what a typical U.S. retiree can expect to receive. Ten Roundtable CEOs (including four who are also Fix the Debt members) have retirement plans valued at more than $50 million. Three of these CEOs have retirement assets of more than $100 million: John Hammergren of McKesson, David Cote of Honeywell, and Mike Duke of Wal-Mart. Duke’s $113.2 million retirement fund is more than 7,500 times as large as his employees’ average 401(k) account balance of $15,000. But there is nary a voice in Congress or the corporate media advocating austerity for the super-rich. The average Social Security check is a measly $1,269 -- and remember recipients paid into the fund and are being repaid their earnings in the form of barely livable retirement checks. The CEO of Toyota makes 22 times what the factory workers get. In America, the CEO usually makes over 1,000 times what the floor guys get. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Seriously?
I click on the links on your page, as I always do, trying to give you a little more support, and today as the picture downloaded, I found myself listening to porno videos that are embedded on the pages. Seriously? You embedded videos that play without my clicking on the play button? Videos that I don't want to see or hear. I don't mind ads--liberal or conservative--but if you're going to put videos that play without my choosing to watch them, I'll never click on another link on your page. Please tell me this was some sort of horrible mistake or experiment that will never be repeated. Linda When you sign up with a new ad company, you don't really know what you're getting until you get it. I lost Google ads in August because of "all the porn" I have on the site. That leaves donations and Amazon.com as my only sources of income. Donations are down about 80 percent from the good years, before 2005. Amazon works great, but really only during Christmas season. When one writes "I'll never click on another link an your page," you're really saying, "Bartcop.com should no longer be on the Internet." I've been doing this for 16 years and I've had a good run but I need a paycheck like everybody else. Yours is the second complaint I've seen and I know there are more but trust me, I'm not being greedy, here. It's not like I have a lot of money and I want more and more and more like an oil man or a Republican. The last ad company I signed up with just sent me $62 for two months of banners. If this new company pays that badly I'll fire them and I won't wait two months to do it. But if they send me a decent check, I might have to ask you to endure the talking banners. You shouldn't HAVE TO turn the sound down when you click on Bartcop.com but IF that was the price to keep Bartcop going, would it be too high? (The other fella who complained said he HAD to have his volume on all the time.) There's always a chance the economy will pick up and donations will increase, but that could take years and I can't survive on "I really like your page." Possibility: I'm hopefully going to get a social security check when I turn 65, in 2018. I could suspend production until then, but would you even remember Bartcop.com in 2018? If anybody has an answer, like Ross Perot said, I'm all ears. If anybody knows of a banner company that's less intrusive, connect me to them and you'll get 10% of that ad revenue until the mountains fall into the sea. Send e-mail to Bart

Corn and soybeans are sold by the bushel. A bushel of corn weighs 56 pounds and a bushel of beans weighs 60 pounds. Soybeans are bringing about $12.00 per bushel now; 20 cents per pound; and corn is under $4.00 per bushel; about 7 cents per pound. I understand this doesn’t have anything to do with your premise about marijuana growers going (or not) broke but it always helps to have your facts straight when you are trying to make a point.
