Qaeda's
Reverse-Reverse Psychology
by Robert Parry
consortiumnews.com
Excerpt:
George W. Bush loves to tell his audiences that
they must "listen to the words of the enemy"
and "take their words seriously," thus setting
up his argument that al-Qaeda wants the United States
to leave Iraq so the U.S. military must stay
in Iraq
Like much of what Bush has said about the Iraq
War, this presidential homespun wisdom always has
had more emotional appeal than actual logic.
But a newly released videotape from al-Qaeda's
second-in-command Ayman al-Zawahiri demonstrates
why Bush's argument has never made sense.

Segregationists signal the GOP is leaving Bush Country
Link
Excerpt:
Trent Lott is serving notice that Bush's new
strategy in Iraq has until about fall
before GOP members will start to bail so they
can save their acreers in Washington.
Lott's words put a fine point on what Senate Republican
stalwarts have been discussing quietly for weeks.
It also echoed remarks made this weekend by House
Minority Leader John Boner, R-Ohio, indicating the
GOP's limited patience on the war.
Republicans have agreed to uphold Bush's war funding
veto but called for a surrender date this fall.
Without the 2/3 majority needed to override Bush's
veto, Democrats are redrafting the bill.
So, the GOP has a surrender date on their calendar.
Why not surrender now and save the lives of those who'll be killed
while they play politics?

The Great
Oil Robbery
smirkingchimp.com
Excerpt:
In case you're wondering why crude oil prices
are down from last year, hanging around at about $60
a barrel, while gasoline prices have soared past
$3.10/gallon nationwide, just check out the latest profit
reports from the oil companies. They are at record
levels.
The answer for this seeming contradiction is simple:
Americans are being robbed blind by the oil industry.
Sure, the oil companies, and their PR agency will
give you all kinds of reasons for higher gasoline prices
at a time of falling crude prices: problems at
two refineries in Texas and Oklahoma, rising demand or whatever.
But the real answer is that there is simply no
competitive market in this industry.
The three remaining oil companies are so tight,
they don't have to get together to conspire to raise prices.
One raises prices, the second follows suit, then
the third raises prices even higher, so the first robber-barons
raise the price again and the second follows
suit again.
This will continue until the Democrats say "Enough!"
Granted, they have a thousand investigations to get to, but just issuing
a round of subpoenas
to the sons if bitches making $75,000
profit per minute might bring prices down 50 cents.

A special committee of the World Bank's governing
board increased pressure on Wolfo the Whore
to resign Monday, concluding that he went too
far in arranging a job and pay raises for his lover.
The seven-member committee did not make its report
public, but a bank official with ties to the panel
said Wolfowitz was given only a day or two to
respond. The maneuver seemed designed to force him
to step down quickly, thus avoiding further public
action in the controversy.

Excerpt:
A New York Times editorial on May 7th is titled
"The Soft Bigotry of Iraq," and begins:
"Whether out of blind loyalty or blind denial,
most Congressional Republicans are prepared
to back up President Bush's veto of the Iraq
spending bill."
Whether out of blind loyalty or blind denial or
corrupt corporate interests, the New York Times
pretends to be writing only about Republicans,
while building into its editorial the assumption that
the Democrats, too, must retreat in the face
of a veto. The Democrats, as we all need to be
constantly reminded, are in the majority, yet
the Times' editorial arrives at this as its penultimate sentence:
"The final version of the spending bill should
include explicit benchmarks and timetables for the Iraqis,
even if Mr. Bush won't let Congress back them
up with a clear timetable for America's withdrawal."
"Mr. Bush" won't LET Congress pass a bill demanded
by the vast majority of Americans?
Why, because he might veto it again? If he vetoes
enough of these war spending bills,
Americans will get what they wanted anyway: he'll
have to end the war.
The Republicans have their own TV news network
and dozens of we-love-Bush newspapers and magazines.
The Democrats just can't figure out how to copy that,
so our news choices are leaning right and right-wing.
Of course, when Gore started his network (has anybody seen it?)
he was sure to make it non-partisan because it wouldn't be fair
to
have a lefty TV channek and our side is allll about being fair.

and soon enough things became regulated.

Islamic extremists have increasingly targeted
Iraqi Chrisitans demanding they convert
An exodus of Christians is under way in the southern
district of Dora after groups
affiliated to al-Qa'eda issued a threat of "convert

Most have fled to Kurdish northern Iraq, where
the village of Ankawa has grown into
an overcrowded "city of Christ", while others
leave for Syria or Jordan.
Priests claim that half Baghdad's pre-2003 Christian

She has the cash to bribe the poor DMV worker....how
hard could/should it be

Hillary has increased her lead over the Democratic

CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Poll released
Monday afternoon.
In the past month, Clinton's support among Democrats
rose to 38 percent from 30 percent,
while support for Barack Obama dropped by two
points to 24. Al Gore continues to draw
strong support even though he has not announced.
Gore and Edwards each received 12.

Subject: War for oil?
If Bush went to war with Iraq for the oil, where
is it?
The first thing they did after they invaded was
build a pipeline to Kuwait.
(It's what Halliburton does best)
That's what 100,000 soldiers are guarding in
Iraq.
That's why they needed the surge to control Baghdad
- because 80%
of the soldiers are guarding Bush's precious
pipleline to Kuwait.
Does he have super secret BFEE oil refineries?
Is there a magic BFEE oil warehouse hidden somewhere
in the sands of Texas?
No magic is involved.
Kuwait owes their very existence to the Bush
Crime Family.

Kuwait turned off their pumps - they're selling

Bush's "mistake" is making the BFEE thugs hundreds
of millions of dollars of profit per day.
When a Bush "mistake" makes that kind of money, expect those "mistakes"
to keep happening again and again and again.
Why do you think we're in Year Five of a failed quagmire?
Why do you think - after four years - there are no meters on Iraq's
oil pumps?
How much is $200M a day times five, six, seven years?

just to make $200M a day for five, six, seven years?

Missile
Defense Dangerous?
by Ivan Eland
consortiumnews.com
Excerpt:
Installing radar for tracking incoming missiles
in the Czech Republic and anti-missile interceptors
in Poland could do more harm than good.
Ostensibly, the European radar and interceptors
are aimed at the future threat of nuclear-armed
Iranian missiles. But Russia suspects - perhaps
with good reason - that the real purpose of the
deployments is to cement the security guarantees
the United States has given to the two former Russian allies.
In addition, Russia fears, also with justification,
that the missile defenses could be augmented someday
and used against Russian missiles. Moscow's vitriolic
threat to pull out of an arms control agreement
in protest is a warning the United States should
heed.
Have they gotten these anti-missle shields to work?
Last I hear, they only work if the missle they're trying to stop has
a homing beacon.

There's a little language in this show.
Part One is a "debate" with Randi Rhodes.
Hopefully this we been seen as an example

I think the vote will go her way.
