"I would eat this up like cake."
-- GOP hatchetman Rick Wilson, who did the 2002 Cleland-Osama morph ads,
talking
about what the GOP will do with Obama-Wright connection,Link
"It's harder for people to say it's taken out
of context because these are Wright's own words. You let people draw their own conclusions.
You don't have to say that he's unpatriotic; you don't question his patriotism. Because I guaran-damn-tee
you that, with that footage, you don't have to." --
Chris LaCivita, GOP hatchetman who helped craft the Swift Boat commercials
against Kerry, Link
Yes, they're going to make Obama "the most radical
Muslim" to ever step foot in America,
but there's no need to worry because the voters
are smart - right?
I wonder how many subscribers that sentence
cost me...
Excerpt: Former vice presidential candidate Geraldine
Ferraro said Wednesday that she objected to the
comparison Obama drew between her and his former
pastor in his speech on race relations Tuesday.
In the speech, Obama sought to place the inflammatory
remarks of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright in a
broader context, in part by placing them on a
continuum with Ferraro's recent remark to the Daily
Breeze that Obama is "lucky" to be black.
'To equate what I said with what this racist bigot
has said from the pulpit is unbelievable," Ferraro said.
"He gave a very good speech on race relations,
but he did not address the fact that this man is up there
spewing hatred.'"
Remember the old days - when we used to fight the Fascist bastards?
What happened? What changed?
How could things be this bad when we had victory guaranteed?
"Obama has an ability to help us bridge the
divide in religious extremism, to maybe
even give power to moderate Islam." -- John Kerry, opening his damn
fool mouth again Link
Barack, get rid of Kerry and do it today.
That damn fool will hurt you MUCH MORE than Rev Wright.
"Obama may
give power to moderate Islam?"
How stupid can John Kerry be? Wait, don't answer that.
I double-checked the link, that damn fool really said that.
Did Obama just lose every red state by 25 points, and half the blue
states?
"He did not oversimplify. He actually brought
down his rhetorical tone a notch so that this would be something that brought
light and not heat to a subject on which there is so much heat...I actually think that
the speech did call out to Americans' better angels."
-- Rachel Maddow, using that odd language I don't understand,
Link
OK, let's try something.
All of you who think "America's better
angels" vote, raise your hand.
"I tell my friends that ask me this question
a lot, they say, what's it like? You're the guy who made the decision to put
their loved one in harm's way; they didn't come home. What's it like to meet
with them? And I say that oftentimes the comforter-in-chief is the person
who gets comforted, because of the strength and courage and great love
of country of these folks." -- Der Monkey, trying to build sentences
that people can understand Link
Excerpt: The passport files of Obama, Hillary and
McCain
have been breached, the State Department said Friday.
State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said
the breaches of McCain and Clinton's passport files
were not discovered until Friday, after officials
were made aware of the privacy breach regarding Obama's
records and a separate search was conducted.
McCormack said the individual who accessed Obama's
files also reviewed McCain's file. This contract
employee has been reprimanded, but not fired.
The individual no longer has access to passport records, he said.
"We are reviewing our options with that person"
and their employment status, McCormack said.
I don't have a passport, so I don't know what the big problem is.
I thought a passport told which countries the person had been to -
is that a super-secret?
"I must say, I'm a little envious. If I were
slightly younger and not employed here, I think it would be a fantastic experience to be on the
front lines of helping this young democracy succeed. It must be exciting for you...in some ways
romantic, in some ways, you know, confronting danger. You're really making history, and thanks."
-- Dubya, during a videoconference with the troops in,
Link
"Soldiers, shame on you for arousing our president's
envy. You must stop making multiple tours of duty battling foreign militias in a faraway
land look like so much fun. While you're romantically running around dodging roadside bombs, the
president is stuck in the White House, pushing glazed salmon around his dinner plate. Stop
enticing the president. We could lose him again. The last time he got excited about a war, he joined the
Alabama National Guard, and nobody could find him."
-- Stephen Colbert Link
I hardly ever change something once it gets uploaded
but the e-mail I published in this spot was ...more aggressive
than I felt comfortable with when I read it back later.
I was hot when I published - probably not a smart thing
to do when fighting with friends you're trying to win back
:)
I am listening to Jeff Farias on NovaM radio discussing
a subject I have heard before, on the fringes.
That is: Hillary Clinton is a member of a fundamentalist
Christian sect .
I did not catch the name ; it is connected to
the White House prayer breakfasts as I heard.
Can you address this?
Bob in Leicester, Carolina
Excerpt: There's a reason Hillary Clinton has remained
relatively silent during the flap over intemperate remarks by
Barack Obama's former pastor, Jeremiah Wright.
When it comes to unsavory religious affiliations, she's a
lot more vulnerable than Obama.
You can find all about it in a widely under-read
article in the September 2007 issue of Mother Jones, in which
Kathryn Joyce and Jeff Sharlet reported that
"through all of her years in Washington, Clinton has been an active
participant in conservative Bible study and prayer
circles that are part of a secretive Capitol Hill group known
as "The "Fellowship," also known as The Family.
But it won't be a secret much longer. Jeff Sharlet's shocking
exposé The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism
at the Heart of American Power will be published in May.
Excerpt: As if dealing with a protracted Democratic presidential
primary fight and the Michigan and Florida
delegate debacles weren't enough, Democratic
National Committee Chairman Howard Dean had to
spend two days this month getting deposed in
a nasty lawsuit that has roiled the DNC and the gay
community...Hitchcock filed his suit against
the DNC last spring, a year after he was fired, alleging
the DNC discriminated against him because he's
gay and retaliated against him because his life partner,
well-known Democratic activist Paul Yandura,
publicly criticized the Democratic Party for not doing
more to fight anti-gay ballot initiatives. Hitchcock
is asking for unspecified damages and severance pay.
I do NOT understand why so many people are "abandoning"
your site. Like Peny for example.
That diatribe against you and your positions
is full of inaccuracies and vitriol. I don't get it!!!
Are they new to your site? Do they actually READ
anything on your site???
Sheesh.
I, for one, think you are often amusing AND perceptive,
not unlike The Daily Show and Colbert.
And you have it tougher because people can't
SEE you as they can Jon and Stephen.
But you also share many links to idiots just
to show your readers WHY you need the hammer.
You do great service in trying to help people
"get it" and I'll never understand why they don't (get it I mean).
Anyway, thanks for all you do. I have read your
site for some years now (about 8 years actually).
I don't always agree with you and I've sent you
emails to both praise and damn you but it was always on point.
Never personal, which is the way it should be
in any dialogue.
ducks
Think how different this race would be if Obama
fans
were as nice to Hillary as I am to Obama.
I agree with what you say about Randi.
I can't believe how anti Hillary she has become,
to the point that I hardly listen to her.
It depresses me that Randi is the person I went
to for refugue during the Bush media love fest
from 2000 until this campaign started has become
so blind with right wing Hillary hate.
I don't listen to the other Air America hosts
other than Tom Hartmann, but just as a correction,
to the cartoon and comments featured on Bartcop
called Air America's Hooker Problem
- Stephanie Miller and Ed Schultz are not part
of Air America - They are on the Jones Network
or something like that, but they are always mistakenly
lumped in with Air America.
I just want everyone to stop the Obama love train
and Hillary hate regardless of which
network you are on or listen to and just support
the candidate that gets the nomination.
Thanks.
Bob
The craziest part is I've never heard a Hillary
hater give a valid reason for hating her.
"The very sound of her voice makes me want
to f-ing puke," is not a valid reason.
BTW, in K-Drag, Shultz is on AAR, but not Stephanie Miller.
Each market if different.
We also get Mike Malloy - it's weird to hear him do an AAR commercial
after they screwed him :)
Subject: Has
anyone been as consistently wrong as Zogby?
Bart, Seriously, I really admire your objectivity....
I know you like Hillary but you still call Zogby
a whore even when it benefits HRC.
I dig that!!! Hard to find anymore!
I just subscribed.
I'm sick of the 'goodbye Bart" e-mails you've
been getting and decided
it was about time I threw some money your way.
I thought you might
appreciate a "hello" instead of "goodbye" or
"Bart, you suck" in your inbox.
I am always reading your webite, so it's about
time I paid for it.
Hang in there, soon we will ALL be joining forces
against McBush.....
ISN'T THAT RIGHT OBAMA SUPPORTERS?? Aileen in Virginia Beach
Bart dude, I love your website and I'd like to
have access to BartCop radio
for another couple of months. The shows I've
listened to since I last sent you
a donation were awesome, and I hope this little
gift will help you keep up the
good fight and the hammer swinging.
