Quote of
the Day
"9-11 was a big fabrication as a pretext for the campaign against terrorism and a prelude for staging an invasion of Afghanistan." -- Iran's Ahmahandjob, Link
"The teabaggers and Michael Moore are both angry about the same thing." -- Arianna on Bill Maher, heard it myself
Hey Arianna, please don't ever speak for me, OK?
I don't need you telling America's whore press that
Bartcop and the racist-handjobs are together-angry.
Excerpt: Increasingly, senior administration officials
shrug when you mention the November mid-term elections.
"We did all we could," and "it's not our fault"
is the line; their point being that if jobs (miraculously at this point)
come back quickly, the Democrats have a fighting
chance -- but not otherwise.
The inner team apparently thinks that 2012 will
go just fine -- as long as unemployment is down around 6 percent.
And, they reason, the people who lose their seats
this November won't be around to complain.
Really?
The Obama team seems to feel that their base has
nowhere else to go.
Jimmy Carter had the same sort of idea.
Excerpt: Jon Voight
Today, he busies himself headlining tea party
rallies and accusing Obama of creating a socialist state on Fox News.
Ted Nugent
Nugent can be heard bashing everything from feminism
to animal rights.
He called for Obama to be jailed because he's
a communist.
Chuck Norris
Norris vocally advocated California's anti-gay
marriage Proposition 8
and writes regularly for the right-wing Web site
WorldNetDaily
Dennis Miller
Once cool, Miller has redefined himself as a
conservative commentator. He's now a regular
on "The O'Reilly Factor" and hosts his own right-wing
radio show.
Cliff Claven (John Ratzenberger)
Ratzenberger campaigned for John McCain in 2008,
has called Obama's healthcare plan "socialism,"
and raised money for Tim Pawlenty. He claims
to be considering a U.S. Senate bid from Connecticut in 2012.
My car is a 1997 so I may be unaware of features
on new cars, but why
don't people whose cars are running amok just
put them in neutral?
Is there some kind of "safety" device preventing
this?
All cars have rev limiters now so the engine
won't blow up.
I know people panic and stop thinking but I haven't
heard this mentioned
in any news about the recall so I wonder if I'm
fantasizing again.
Thanks again for all you do!
Steve
I think early on, before people were talking about
it, it was easy to panic
but after all the publicity, who could forget
to shift into Neutral if it happens?
Question: Why can't Toyota buy a million gas pedals from GM or Honda and modify
them?
How long does it take an expert to identify the cause of a crash?
Put another way, why is the government dragging their feet instead of
providing answers?
Excerpt: Karl Rove claims “one of the biggest mistakes”
of Bush's presidency was not aggressively challenging critics who
charged that Bush “lied” about the reasons for
the Iraq War, an accusation that Rove insists was false and unfair.
But the problem with Rove’s account is that not
only did Bush oversee the twisting of intelligence to justify invading
Iraq but he subsequently lied – and lied repeatedly
– about how Iraq had responded to UN inspection demands.
So, while it may be impossible to say for certain
what Bush believed about Iraq possessing WMDs, it can’t be
argued that Bush didn’t know that Iraq declared
that it had destroyed its WMD stockpiles and let U.N. inspectors in
to see for themselves in the months before the
invasion.
They will continue to tell lies as long as nobody
refutes them.
Bartcop - Count Dick Polman, a guy who has a pretty
good idea of what's what,
among the supporters of "do-something" Democrats.
To wit:
It's crunch time for President Obama and the
congressional Democrats. The political stakes are clear. If they want
to ensure that they will be slaughtered in the November congressional elections, all
they need to do, in the weeks ahead, is screw up their golden opportunity to pass
health care reform. Link Patrick
I remember 1993 - the Democrats had a similar
choice:
Stand with your president or lose every f-ing thing.
They chose to lose everything. They could've had
health care and their jobs, but they choose
to give both up.
"Oh no! Look at the blue skyscraper that insures everybody! Oh, no!!"
If only the Democrats would list the facts.
The teabaggers are insane with rage over Obama's blue
ink
but they have NO PROBLEM with Bush's red
ink.
Bush gave billions to the super rich, and teabaggers love that.
Obama wants to save your family health care costs
and those racist teabaggers hate him for it.

Quotes
"I hate politics right now. It's like being
back in high school with the Bullies and the Pussies, with the GOP as the Bullies and the Democrats
as the Pussies. Which side can you possibly support?" -- Harry Shearer,
who's make no secret of his hatred for Hillary
Hey Harry, you think Hillary would have
wasted a year trying to be nice to the bullies?
You think Hillary would have said,
"Kick me again - harder" every
time the GOP attacked her?
You called Hillary every lousy name you could think of in 2008,
but I never heard you call her a pussy or a quitter.
Subject: How to Tell a Republican
from a Libertarian
Solutions in politics should be derived from answering
the fundamental question:
What should the purpose of government be?
I asked about 50 people (mostly college graduates
and all Republicans) that question,
and not a single one could answer. Try
it, it’s amazing. You can just smell the ozone as their two wits
short out.
Now, if they’re actually Libertarians, they’ll
eventually say something like,
“Government ought to just provide defense and
infrastructure”, which really means
“Leave business alone to loot, pollute, and steal”.
What the Constitution (supposedly sacred to the
Right) says is: "We the people of the United States,
(1) in Order to form a more perfect Union, (2)
establish Justice, (3) insure domestic Tranquility,
(4) provide for the common Defense, (5) promote
the general Welfare, and (6) secure the Blessings
of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity..."
(Numeration my addition)
That's not a big stretch from my Leftist answer
to my question:
A government ought to provide for the welfare,
health, safety, and education of its citizens.
Beat Raven
I agree.
"Government" is a set of rules to keep people safe and keep things moving.
The weak must be.protected from the GOP jackals that prey on them.
Subject: the good news about
Obama and Health Care
Hi Bart,
For over 50 years Democrats have been trying to
reform health care, and have made incremental gains along the way
with Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP and Cobra. The
awesome forces against reform have succeeded in slowing down or
stopping change for decades and President Obama's
strategy has been to incorporate all grievances in order to move
something, anything forward, thus removing those
objections from the debate. It has worked and all they have left is
"keep your socialist hands off my Medicare" and
you see how that only resonates with Tea Baggers now.
That is not weak, that is savvy and pragmatic
because he knows if he went "all in" for single payer, as he has stated
publicly by the way, it would give too much ammunition
to those powers, and confuse the ignorant public ultimately
stifling any reform. For the first time, it will
be law and accepted that people are due health care and deserve assistance.
No pre-existing conditions, no rescissions, government
payment assistance, no lifetime caps, and scores of changes
towards preventative measures. These gains should
not be underestimated. Health care reform is about to pass,
and it will continue to evolve because including
the unnecessary health insurance companies cannot be sustained.
However they exist now with tons of money and
are a force to be reckoned with, like it or not, and President Obama
understands this. When health care reform passes,
which it will after improvements to the Senate bill, President Obama
will have achieved one of the greatest political
successes in our Democratic party's and nation's history . It will not
be
the end, but another step in the inevitable move
towards single-payer. We need this, and President Obama and the
Democratic controlled Congress are getting it
done, warts and all. We need to keep the pressure on until the bill is
signed into law, of course, but please give credit
where it is due. President Obama is winning and it will happen.
That is worth mighty praise and support because
you of all people know what he is up against.
This is gigantic and he deserves praise and encouragement.
On this issue Bart, please get behind him
and acknowledge this success.
Thank you,
Mean Mr. Mustard - 97504
I hope Obama gets something passed to avoid the crippling of his presidency.
I also hope we actually get some positive health care changes before
too long,
but we just watched a year-long class on how not to negotiate.
The Republicans have many tricks but one that works great for them is
their reply to
a Democratic proposal - when a GOP senator says, "That's
dead - it's a non-starter."
The proper answer to that is, "Fuck you, nothing's over until WE
say so because WE're in power."
But no. That would be impolite.
Democrats reply, "So, what ARE you willing
to let us pass?" which proved to everyone watching that
Democrats are the party of pushovers and the Rethugs have learned to
weild power when they have none.
Last thing?
Mustard, my reply to you was rejected by your server.
I have something for you.
"I think the Democrats have been playing a
strong hand about as weakly as humanly possible and the Republicans have been playing
a weak hand about as strongly as humanly possible." -- Harry Shearer , Link
Excerpt: Now that Charlie Rangel has relinquished his
coveted chairmanship of the House Ways and Means Committee
and may be facing worse days ahead, his humiliation
stands as a mark of ethical consistency for liberals and Democrats.
A Korean War hero and a symbol of African-American
advancement, the likeable Harlem pol was brought to book not
by the Republicans who are celebrating, but chiefly
by the "liberal" New York Times and the Democrats on the House
Ethics Committee who voted to reprimand him.
Yet as the Republicans and their media epigones
celebrate Rangel’s downfall, the contrast with their own typical tolerance
of corruption in their own ranks is instructive.
To draw political comparisons between the cases of Rangel and Tom DeLay,
as some mainstream pundits and conservative commentators
do, is glib and fatuous if not simply dishonest.
None of the GOP pet media outlets, such as the
Washington Times, the Weekly Standard or Fox News Channel, has ever
initiated an ethics investigation of a Republican.
Instead, these outfits habitually devote their efforts to protecting Republicans,
no matter how crooked. Indeed, they tend scream"liberal
bias" whenever the paper criticizes or investigates a Republican.
Hell no, I didn't go.
Sleepy guitar players put me to f-ing sleep.
We saw Clapton in...maybe ..1978, and he was boredom-inducing
then.
Wiseguy saw this recent show - said Clapton's best song was "Cocaine."
Gosh, and I missed that?
And he did "Layla" unplugged - his best song by far ...unplugged.
How old is Clapton, about 85?
The Tulsa World Review said.
“Layla” was spellbinding in its simplicity."
Translation: Clapton took the most exciting song of his entire career and
reduced it to a smarmy chick-song
that no man in his right f-ing mind would ever pay to see unless
he was mega-whipped.
Excerpt: In a boost to backstabber Blanche Lincoln — and
a blow to primary challenger Bill Halter —
Bill Clinton is throwing his support to the backstabber,
his spokesman confirmed.
Halter’s entry into the race had kicked off a
round of speculation about who Clinton would endorse,
given that he hails from the state and remains
very popular with Dem primary voters. If Clinton had
remained neutral it would have been a big boost
to Halter.
I wonder why he's doing that?
Is she an old friend who supported Bill when he
didn't have many friends?
Maybe Obama asked Clinton to help the backstabber
- because that's how Obama is?
You'd think Clinton would want Obama's health
care initiative to pass,
so why is he backing someone who'll do anything
to stop reform?
I've never seen you whacked out on something unrelated
to anything as unimportant as this and to this extent.
Never mind alienating a lot of people over something
that does not have anything to do with the ruination of this country
.... unless you believe the National Enquirer
like conspiracy theories....
So please.... put the Toyota Kool-Aid down....

Ten years ago, Eastman Kodak was the largest buyer of silver in the
world because
silver is used to turn a film negative into a photograph - but we don't
do that anymore.
We take digital pictures so Kodak no longer buys huge amounts of silver.
Same for the oil bastards that killed 5,000 of our soldiers.
This Nissan Leaf and all the cars behind it will put the oil bastards
out of business.
BTW, have you heard the rumors?
The Nissan Leaf chokes babies who ride in it - so DON'T BUY THIS
CAR!!! Nissan wants to choke your babies - don't let them!!!
How dangerous is the Nissan Leaf?
Congress will hold tearful hearings next week!!
Excerpt: Comedian Kathy Griffin has brought her "Life
on the D-List" show to Sarah Palin's home state,
skewering the former Alaska governor at a raucous
show in Anchorage.
Griffin was escorted on stage on Friday by Playgirl
model Levi Johnston, who fathered a child
with Palin's oldest daughter and is involved
in a child support battle with Bristol Palin.
I agree Gore could have and should have fought
back! But I do not agree
that by doing so he would have prevented the
Bush Gang’s theft of his presidency.
First of all the Supreme Court was not about to
let Gore win.
Poppy-and-Grecian Man’s own “Gang of Five” ensured
they wouldn’t
(which is when I fell for ‘BartCop’ btw.
Remember the Clown pics, I never laughed so hard!)…
The majority of Governorship’s in the United States
at the time were held by Republicans.
If the Supreme Court had stayed out of it and
the letter of the Twelfth Amendment had been followed
we would have seen a legislative conference by
the states to elect a President:
"...in choosing the President, the votes
shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote…and a majority of all
the states shall be necessary to a choice”
And because the States can “prescribe the manner”
in which these representatives are chosen the governors
of each state would simply appoint a like-minded
rep to vote their way, which in this case woulda been for Dumb-ya.
That’s why I blame Nader and not (necessarily)
Gore.
If Nader hadn’t worked so hard to split the Democratic
vote in “battleground” states like Florida
that vote would have easily gone to Gore with
no phony “500-vote” majority cooked up by Harris and Jebblo.
Fer Ser though, if I were Al Gore I would have
stood up to my last breath instead of slinking away.
He could have won in ’04, maybe even ’08…he really
was the best man for the job, but then I guess
you have to have a spine first.
John C
The way I see it, Gore told all the Democrats
to stay away from Florida
but the GOP was aggressive, as always, and they
flew protesters in.
.
All America saw on their TVs was "the populace"
revolting because Bush "got robbed."
Politics is like poker - when you fold, you can't
win.
"For his next trick, McCain will produce an
1876 letter from General Custer that reads, 'No, no, don't worry, I
can totally take these guys!'" -- Jason Linkins, on McCain using a letter signed
by dead generals
as his reason for opposing repeal
of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" Link
McCain, openly disagreeing with the Pentagon on what's best for
soldiers.
Excerpt: An evangelical Christian hate group called "Repent
Amarillo" is reportedly terrorizing the town of Amarillo, Texas.
Repent fashions itself as a sort of militia and
targets a wide range of community members they deem offensive to their
theology:
gays, liberal Christians, Muslims, environmentalists,
breast cancer events that do not highlight abortion, Halloween,
"spring break events", and pornography shops.
On its website, Repent has posted a "Warfare Map" of its enemies in town.
Calling Repent an "American Taliban", blogger
Charles Johnson notes that the group's moniker "Army of God" is a rough
translation of "Hezbollah." Led by a man named
David Grisham, a security guard at a nuclear-bomb facility called Pantex,
Repent first gained media attention in Texas
following a campaign to boycott Houston for electing a gay mayor.
The group, which is associated with Raven Ministries,
collaborates with other Christian groups as well as forced
pregnancy advocacy associations like 'Bound 4
Life.'
Why don't we ever heard stopries about these handjobs
running into someone who doesn't want to be screwed with?
Those assholes screaming "God hates fags" at soldiers' funerals?
Why don't they get their asses kicked on a regular basis?
