"My question is, what legacy will he leave, having the opportunity to serve under such hugely dramatic circumstances and had such a huge impact on the universal state of things … how could he have had such a splendid opportunity to do more than most presidents would have ever been able to do, and he let that opportunity slip away from him." -- Harry Belafonte, saying Obama has "failed to come to the table." Link Send e-mail to Bart Obama Wins New Hampshire 60% of GOP rejects the Vanilla Republican
Link Gov Willard has won the second Republican vote of the year inNew Hampshire primary, says Fox News. Romney started as an early front-runner and has stayed on top. Republicans are starting to remind me of the last person I ever want to see in a Baskin-Robbins. We have all seen a person who cannot make a decision at an ice cream shop. The majority of Republicans have been that person since early in 2011. n As a political scientist, I understand why Romney has stayed on top and will continue to stay on top. Even in the age of the tea party and other extreme political groups, people still feel more comfortable with moderate politicians. Romney is the most moderate of the field and can feed into one major concern people have about the government. I don't think this is over yet. Huntsman is just now getting his bump and if someone gives him $5M, which could happen, he could do to Willard what Willard did to the Squeaker back in Iowa. Damn, right now one could maybe OWN a president for just $5M. Our Supreme Court is so wise, ... and so honest, ...and so non-partisan. Send e-mail to Bart Barbour Pardons 17 Murderers Over 200 pardons in all - what's he up to?
Link On Tuesday, his last day in office, Republican Gov. Haley Barbour of Mississippi granted pardons to 193 criminals — an unusually high number for the state, and one that is likely to inflame controversy about Mr. Barbour’s pardon practices. Barbour granted 203 full pardons over his two terms, including 17 to convicted murderers. He also granted 19 other criminals lesser degrees of clemency, like conditional suspensions of their sentences. Before the list became public, an outcry had grown about the pardons or other grants of clemency. They numbered only 13 as of last weekend. Eight of them had been convicted of murder. Looks to me like the Republican Party is soft of crime - especially murderers. Judge blocks Barbour Pardons Has that ever happened before? Link A Mississippi judge has temporarily blocked the release of 21 inmates who'd been given pardons or medical release by Republican Haley Barbour in one of his final acts as governor. Barbour said in a statement after leaving office, that he believes people have misunderstood why he gave reprieves to more than 200 inmates. Barbour wouldn't answer repeated questions about the pardons Tuesday. Hey, Dumbass, maybe people don't understand because you've refused to answer questions. If I ran the DNC, I would pound on every Rethug for being soft on crime, but I realize that wouldn't be seen as "fair" by the nancy boys who run our party. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Iran Saying you have "no dog" in the Israeli/Palestinian fight implies that you don't give a shit either way, which would be plain silly, or that you just haven't paid it any attention. You obviously give a shit or you wouldn't risk bringing mockery and shame to your good name by expressing this opinion on your blog. (just kidding Bart) So I can only conclude you are simply ignorant on the issue. James Brown I was trying to be polite. I assume people who say, "What's wrong with Iran nuking up?" want Israel destroyed. Since I don't hate Israel, I have no motive for wanting them destroyed. Send e-mail to Bart Seeing the ads puts

Willard vs South Carolina Ideology How to appeal to fundies, baggers and racists? Link Willard Mitt Romney has now defied a generation of political gravity, doing what no non-incumbent Republican has done since 1976, winning the one-two states of Iowa and New Hampshire in his quest for the party’s presidential nomination. B.F.D. - that's pure horseshit. He won Iowa by a tractor full of rubes and he was soundly rejected by 60% of the Republicans in New Hampster who know him best. Willard can't campaign his way out of a paper bag - even with unlimited money, but he's the most presidential-looking of all the big-footed clowns left in the car. Truth is - they f-ing hate Romney. And who thinks the Pat Robertson-South Carolina fundies and going to vote for that Mormon fella with the forty wives? This is South Carolina - where they believe Catholics have tails. (That's why the a priest wears those funny robes - to hide his tail.) This is South Carolina - where robo-calling about your opponent's "black baby" pays big dividends. Willard Romney has a glass chin. Even if Willard wins the nomination, the Baggers and fundies go third ticket on his ass. Obama could openly date white women and win this. The maker of Twinkies, Sno Balls and Wonder Bread is trying to lose the fat. Hostess Brands is hoping to cut its high costs as it heads back into bankruptcy protection. Hostess has enough cash to keep stores stocked with its Ding Dongs, Ho Hos and other snacks for now as it battles rising labor costs and increased competition. But longer term, the 87-year-old company has a bigger problem: health-conscious Americans favor yogurt and energy bars over the dessert cakes and white bread they devoured 30 years ago. Last year, 36 percent of Americans ate white bread in their homes, down from 54 percent in 2000, according to NPD Group. Meanwhile, about 54 percent ate wheat bread, up from 43 percent in 2000. Consumption of healthy snacks is growing, too. About 32 percent of Americans ate yogurt at least once in two weeks in 2011, for instance, up from 18 percent in 2000. Yet, McDonald's stock is going thru the roof. Send e-mail to Bart See

GOP Debate question "How would your White House be different than the Bush White House?" Seems like that would be a real stumper. I wish someone would ask that because Willard is all "no taxes for the rich and get government out of the way," which is the path that Bush took and that idiocy drove the entire world to the brink of bankruptcy Send e-mail to Bart Sarah Palin Nude Link Is pot good for your lungs? Link A few hits on the bong now and then don't seem to have any detrimental effects on lung health, suggests a new study. Researchers found that multiple measures of lung function actually improved slightly as young people reported using more marijuana -- at least up to a couple thousand lifetime joints. The new data come from a long-term study of more than 5,000 young adults. From 1985 until 2006, researchers regularly asked participants about their past and current use of cigarettes and marijuana. They also tested how much air their lungs could hold and the maximum rate of air flow out of their lungs. The more cigarettes their participants smoked, the worse their lungs performed, but at least at moderate levels of pot smoking, that didn't seem to be the case -- in fact, the trend was reversed. Send e-mail to Bart Willard is "Obama's candidate of choice" Says the vulgar Pigboy and the Publicity whore http://blatherwatch.blogs.com "Now, not only did I tell you that the Broncos were gonna beat the Steelers, for months I have been telling you that the Democrats want Romney — and you all know it. You’ve been listening here and you’ve heard people call me and tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about, that I’m full of it, that they’re scared of Romney. “Romney is the only guy who can win.” And I have said, “No,” and I’ve stood tough, and I’ve said, “They can’t wait for him. What’s Occupy Wall Street all about but running against Romney? He’s the Wall Street guy on our roster — and then Romneycare,” and I’ve laid it all out. So here comes Palin, she says it, and makes news. ha ha Poor Pigboy - he can't stand it when someone else gets quoted by the whore press. Send e-mail to Bart GOP Latino problem worsens They'll say they're stupid, like Blacks Link "We have to fix our problems with the Hispanics,” said John McCain last week when asked about the Republican Party’s competitiveness in the Southwest in the 2012 election.. “It starts with a way to address the issue of immigration in a humane and caring fashion, at the same time emphasizing the need to secure our borders.” A tip for Republicans: drop the “the” in front of references to Hispanics. Use of the definite article sounds a bit too much like the cringe-worthy “that one” line McCain dropped on Obama back in 2008, and smacks of the sort of “those people” phrases that only turn away the groups described. This week, Romney smartly released his first Spanish-language campaign ad, a positive sign. But language is only a small part of the GOP’s problems with minorities, and Latino voters in particular. The GOP is inherently racist and brown people are actually smart enough to pick up on that. Then you have assholes in Arizona that want all brown people pulled over and investigated. Go ahead, you racist bastards, send Latinos running into the arms of the Democrats. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Obama stones Yo Bart, I'm watching "Targeting Bin Laden" on the History Channel and if there was ever any doubt if Obama has stones, this shows he definitely has them. Half his staff said they didn't think it was Bin Laden in that compound and he gave the go ahead anyway. What an incredible show. We spent years listening to Bush thump his chest over killing Saddam who didn't have any WMD's. Now, we don't hear a single word about how Obama GOT THE GUY behind 9/11 !!! Why don't you do a counter like Keith Obermann did with Iraq - "It has been XXXX days since victory was declared in Iraq". How about at the top of your page: "It has been XXXX days since president Obama brought Osama Bin Laden to justice". I cannot believe how one of the greatest achievements of this presidency has been swept under the carpet. Keep hammerin' Bart!! Matt Hopefully, the Democrats will remind voters about that. Send e-mail to Bart Court blocks Okie ban on Sharia law That's what the GOP worries about in Oklahoma Link A federal appeals court has blocked an Oklahoma voter-approved measure barring state judges from considering Islamic and international law in their decisions. The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld an earlier injunction preventing State Question 755 from being certified until the free speech questions are resolved. The decision Tuesday allows a lawsuit brought by Islamic-American groups to move ahead to a bench trial. "The proposed amendment discriminates among religions," said the judges. "The Oklahoma amendment specifically names the target of its discrimination. The only religious law mentioned is Sharia law." Why do Republicans spend so much time on bullshit like this?
