  There should be a law...

If Person A publicly accuses Person B of "stuipdity" then person B has the right
to confront Person A in a live, televised 300-question session of Jeopardy!

Afterwards, loser takes off his pants and sings the "I'm a happy donut" song.

If that was the law, very few people would call Obama "stupid."

Assad demands new guarantees
Or his murder spree will continue...

  Link

Assad has demanded written guarantees that insurgents will stop fighting before he pulls back
troops under the terms of a peace plan, casting additional doubt over a truce due to start this week.

Escalating violence has already raised questions over the ceasefire. Opposition activists said dozens
of people were killed and wounded on Sunday when President Bashar al-Assad's loyalists shelled
a rebellious area near the border with Turkey.

Kofi Annan, seeking to end the conflict that has killed more than 9,000 people in the past year,
said the latest bloodshed violated the guarantees he had been given and urged Assad to keep its promises.

The deal Annan brokered calls on Syria to begin the pullback of troops from around towns and cities
by Tuesday for a truce to start 48 hours later.

So, in a couple of Days, Assad will have killed at least 10,000 innocent people.
Why aren't Republicans pressuring President Dither to do something?

Once again, we don't need a third war, but I assume we have plenty of drones available
that could cause Assad a megaton of headaches - but Obama is too shy to use them?

Maybe when 20,000 people are dead for no reason Obama will consider getting involved?

Or will it take 40,000 deaths?

 G
OP has changed - but into what?

  Link

The House passage of Rep. Paul Ryan’s budget, with its steep cuts in the tax rates on the wealthy
and sweeping reductions in programs for the poor, is an enormous step rightward from the budget
policies of Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. Faced with growing deficits, Reagan and Bush
both supported substantial tax increases.

A small hint of how this push to the right moves moderates away from moderation came in an effort
last week to use an amendment on the House floor to force a vote on the deficit-reduction proposals
offered by the Simpson-Bowles Commission.

Note how many deficit hawks regularly trash Obama for not endorsing Simpson-Bowles while they
continue to praise Ryan — even though Ryan voted to kill the initiative when he was on the commission.
Here again is the double standard that benefits conservatives, proving that Obama was absolutely right
not to embrace the Simpson-Bowles framework. If he had, a moderately conservative proposal would
suddenly have defined the “left wing” of the debate, just because Obama endorsed it.

This is nuts. Yet mainstream journalism and mainstream moderates play right along.

Obama sends second carrier to Gulf

  Link

The U.S. Navy said Monday that President Obama approved the deployment of a second aircraft
carrier to the Persian Gulf region amid rising tensions with Iran over its disputed nuclear program.

The deployment of the nuclear-powered USS Enterprise along with the Abraham Lincoln carrier
strike group marks only the fourth time in the past decade that the Navy has had two aircraft carriers
operating at the same time in the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Sea, said Cmdr. Amy Derrick-Frost.

Commander Amy?

The two carriers will support the American military operations in Afghanistan and anti-piracy efforts
off Somalia's coast and in the Gulf of Aden, she said.

The warships also patrol the Gulf's strategic oil routes that Iran has threatened to shut down in retaliation
for economic sanctions slapped on the Islamic Republic because of its nuclear program, which the West
suspects aims to develop nuclear weapons.

Iran denies the allegations, and says its program is solely for peaceful purposes.  The deployment of a
second aircraft carrier is "routine and not specific to any threat," Derrick-Frost said. She did not say
how long the Navy will keep the increased military presence in region.

I hope that those who say Ahmahanjob is sane and level-headed are correct.

I would imagine if something comes at those carriers, there will be trouble.
Can Mr. Ahmahanjob resist taunting "The Great Satan's" aircraft carriers?

Eldrick sorry for throwing hissy
He tied for 38th at The Sexist Masters

  Video

Eldrick Woods apologized Saturday for kicking his golf club during the second round of the Masters.

"Certainly, I'm frustrated at times and I apologize if I offended anybody by that," Woods said.
"But I've hit some bad shots and it's certainly frustrating at times not hitting the ball where you need to hit it."

Woods has struggled, posting an even-par 72 during the third round on Saturday to scores of 72 and 75
to all but fall out of contention at Augusta National.  Tiger struggled Saturday, then apologized for
kicking a club during Friday's second round.

Woods said he was not approached by any club officials about Friday's incident, although he still
could be fined for his behavior by the PGA Tour, which never announces such punishment.

"I certainly heard that people didn't like me kicking the club, but I didn't like it, either," Woods said.
"I hit it right in the bunker and it didn't feel good on my toe either."

Subject: Trayvon Martin - Decision Not to Empanel Grand Jury

Good Morning, Bart.

Just a quick note. My first reaction to the news only a few minutes ago that the special prosecutor
appointed in the Travyon Martin case will not submit the matter to a grand jury was anger, but now
I believe she may be on the right track.

Grand juries and trial juries are drawn from the same jury pools, which means an excellent chance
of drawing a grand jury of redneck goobers who would leap at the chance not to return an indictment.

This way the decision is hers and hers alone; hopefully she'll make the right one and charge Zimmerman up.
   Keep swinging,

Trump does right on human rights
Allows trans-gendered woman to compete

  Link

Jenna Talackova, 23, will be allowed to strut the Miss Universe Canada stage with
the other 60 finalists, the pageant owned by mogul Donald Trump has decided.

“The Miss Universe organization will allow Jenna Talackova to compete in the 2012 Miss Universe
Canada pageant provided she meets the legal gender recognition requirements of Canada, and the
standards established by other international competitions,” reads a statement by Trump.

Talackova said she had final gender reassignment surgery four years ago and is a full-fledged woman.

She's kinda cute - she could win.

"I don't recall anybody ever saying, `He took a cheap shot' or `he did the obvious,' or that he was
playing some kind of game. He actually was trying to serve the audience and that's what made him great."

--  FOX News bastard, Roger Ailes, saying something nice - I wonder what his angle is?

"My heart is broken today over the death of my dear friend Mike Wallace. My parents introduced me to
Mike more than 75 years ago and we've been fast friends ever since. ... Mike was an old school journalist
and one of the most astute people I've ever met. The news business will be a different place now

--  Nancy Reagan

  I liked Mike Wallace.
He was kinda like Andrew Brietbart, but in reverse.
  Mike Wallace told the truth.

When he interviewed you, he might say, "...but you didn't answer the question."

Today's blow-dried posers don't do that - they accept any bullshit, change-the-subject lie the
bought-off politician offers, unless it's a Democrat and the subject is sex - THEN they wake up.

Subject: Mike Wallace

Bart,

I used to watch 60 Minutes religiously back in the days when investigative journalism
still meant something.  The last time I tuned in, Mike Wallace was taking a walk with
Bill O'Reilly down memory lane, like couple of long-lost teenage lovers.

Mike referred that piece-of-shit as "Papa Bear".  It made me sick to my stomach,
realizing that the most dedicated investigative journalist of our time had sunk that low.

I cursed his name, and vowed never to watch 60 Minutes again.
I found it difficult to believe that someone that respected in his field
could be reduced to that kind of show.  WE ARE DOOMED.
Ron in Australia (Formerly of Arizona)

I didn't see that, so I can only guess.
Maybe it was after Mike retired and he was "a  civilian?"

Also, his Nazi son works with O'Reilly,
so maybe they were just having a truce of some kind.

Coke, Pepsi in Trayvon case
They cut ties with "kill the black guy" group

  Link

Coca-Cola Co is dropping its membership in a conservative national advocacy group that supports
"Stand Your Ground" laws such as the one being used as a defense in the Trayvon murder.

The move by the world's biggest soft drink maker comes as corporate America faces increased scrutiny
from consumers and shareholder activists over lobbying and political spending as they damn well should.

PepsiCo Inc ended its relationship with the group - the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) - in January.

In a statement on Thursday, Coca-Cola made no direct mention of the controversial self-defense law pushed by
ALEC that provides shooters with wide latitude when shooting those pesky minorities.  "Coca-Cola has elected to
discontinue its membership with the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC)," the statement said.

"Our involvement with ALEC was focused on efforts to oppose discriminatory food and beverage taxes,
not on issues that have no direct bearing on our business. We have a long-standing policy of only taking
positions on issues that impact our company and industry."

Trayvon Martin, 17, was killed on February 26 in Sanford, Florida, by George Zimmerman.
The white cops claimed he acted in self defense and the murderer has not been charged with a crime.

At a rally in Sanford on Saturday, civil rights leaders said they were considering economic boycotts
of national companies that support "Stand Your Ground" laws.

I like this - and do you know why?
Because WE can't get hurt if they try to turn the tables.

WE are on the right side of history.
THEY are on the side of bigotry, hatred and greed.

They want to hold on to the corrupt past that Martin Luther King wanted us to graduate from,
but their old world is fading into the past - even their kids are embracing the multi-cultural future

As Gene Roddenberry predicted, society is coming to grips with the insanity of
racism and
other forms of hate that are fading into the last.

America was shocked in 1966 when Star Trek premiered on NBC.
Roddenberry showed a future where Blacks could be military officers.
The Enterprise had a Russian navigator and a Black (female!) communications officer.
Star Trek's future was so diverse, their science officer had green blood!

And just to add a little humor, he let the Asian guy drive :)

on behalf of the Grand Lodge of Texas. He did not see an alien spacecraft.

Bart, old buddy,

Even tho I don't agree with you on Iran,
I'm still willing to help put food on your family.

And since I haven't sent any in a while,
I thought I'd sweeten the pot.

Keep hammering,
 Eric X

Eric the Pillar, thanks for the generous donation.
Thanks also for the good attitude on friends with opinions.

We both want the same thing in Iran - we want peace.
If we can't have peace, we both want the fewest casualties possible.

If I think we should land at Normandy, and you think we should land at Omaha,
we're still on the same side, but with different views on achieving our shared goal.

People think I'm "into war," that's just not true, but I think sometimes
a well-timed punch can settle things before the big guns come out.

You know, if some rich Democrat could throw $50,000-$100,000 my way
it would sure take the pressure off for the upcoming political season.

Think of the tax deduction!

I hate to spend time every day trying to raise money.
