A furious transatlantic row has erupted over
quotes that were attributed to a retired Italian bishop,
which suggested that Jews were behind the current
criticism of the Catholic church's record on tackling clerical sex abuse.
A website quoted Giacomo Babini, the emeritus
bishop of Grosseto, as saying he believed a "Zionist attack"
was behind the criticism, considering how "powerful
and refined" the criticism is.
The comments, which have been denied by the bishop,
follow a series of statements from Catholic churchmen
alleging the existence of plots to weaken the
church and Pope Benedict XVI.
Allegedly speaking to the Catholic website Pontifex,
Babini, 81, was quoted as saying:
"They do not want the church, they are its natural
enemies.
Deep down, historically speaking, the Jews
are God killers."

The interview was spotted on Friday by the American
Jewish Committee, which said Babini was using
"slanderous stereotypes, which sadly evoke the
worst Christian and Nazi propaganda prior to world war two".

acceleration problems that have led to millions
of Toyotas being recalled — the automaker has hidden the existence
of tests that would be harmful to its legal position
and claimed key material was difficult to get at its headquarters in
Japan. It has withheld potentially damaging documents
and refused to release data stored electronically in its vehicles.
For example, in a Colorado product liability lawsuit
filed by a man whose young daughter was killed in a 4Runner
rollover crash, Toyota withheld documents about
internal roof strength tests despite a federal judge's order that
such information be produced, according to court
records. The attorneys for Jon Kurylowicz now say such
documents might have changed the outcome of the
case, which ended in a 2005 jury verdict for Toyota.

For some time I have wondered why a group of people
who I would never suspect being inclined to carry protest signs
and become involved in politics etc....suddenly
are...Some suspect racism among other things and no doubt that is a part
of it..
To me the common thread is a hatred of Government
and a fear of the feds taking over their lives....I wondered why such a
resentment to a concept..something you really
can't define but none the less seems real and has the potential of taking
over your life.
In other words,controling you..
Then it hit me...What are they really relating
to..the one thing that they have surrendered to that they have, without
free will,
forsaken their humanity or freewill. Something
that they can't explain but never the less are in a sense forced by social
norms
guilt or loneliness to become a part of.
Bingo ..... RELIGION... But they can't lash
out at it... ..
It just won't fly even though in their heart
of hearts they Know it is all bullshit.
They are so angry and the GOVERNMENT is the perfect
target.. Easy to organize a group of people
against something they perceive as something
that will take away their freedoms but it can't be the church..
Shell game...Go after the Government
Maybe someone alot smarter then me can take this
idea and run with it or I will just put it in my next big pot of alligator

Subject: health care in the Philippeans
My SS provides us with enough income to live pretty
well, , whereas in the U.S., I would be living
under a bridge somewhere. Although there are
some trade offs living in a 3rd world country, like it’s
hard to get good pizza here and driving is a
bit challenging, the benefits far outweigh the negatives.
Although we have no medical insurance, a doctors
visit is about $10.00. Less than the deductible
I paid in the U.S. and without the $1,500 per
month insurance premiums we paid for being a little bit
older and with a pre existing condition! I had
pneumonia a while back and the total bill, including doctor,
tests, and medicine was less than $100.00. And
yes, the doctors are as good here as in the U.S. and
maybe even better, since they take the time to
actually talk to you.
The Philippines is a beautiful country and the
folks here are great. We travel around the islands a bit
and just enjoy the beauty of it all. For anyone

of Guam
might "tip over" if too many people are on the island at the same time.
Sir, Guam isn't a dinner plate floating on the ocean.
It's sitting on a mountain that goes all the way to the floor of the
Pacific Ocean.
It can't tip over any more than the United States can tip over.

It's funny, when Johnson says that, the military officer he's grilling
replied,
"We do not anticipate that happening," which
was tons better than laughing out loud.
When contacted afterwards, Johnson's spokesman tried his best to paper over his Texas-sized blunder:
“I wasn’t suggesting that the island of Guam
would literally tip over. I was using a metaphor to say
that with the addition of 8,000 Marines and
their dependents – an additional 80,000 people during
peak construction to the port on the tiny
island with a population of 180,000 – could be a tipping point
which would adversely affect the island’s
fragile ecosystem and over burden its already overstressed infrastructure.
“Having traveled to Guam last year, I saw firsthand
how this beautiful – but vulnerable island – is already
overburdened, and I was simply voicing my
concerns that the addition of that many people could tip the
delicate balance and do harm to Guam.”
