first time I ever voted by mail and I like it. It allowed me to vote from home where I could study the candidate
statements and do research on the propositions in order to understand them and get my vote right.
I do feel however that the government should have sent the ballot postage prepaid rather than having to put
2 stamps on it myself to get it back to them. I'm concerned the post office is going to throw out a lot of ballots
for lack of enough stamps.
The way I see it, no matter what side you are on if you don't vote you're not really a citizen. If you don't vote
you are not participating and you should lose your right to complain. Not only should you vote but you should
take the time to think things through, study the candidates positions and experience. Study the ballot proposals.
Make your vote valuable to you as if you were the one making the final decision. If you are voting by mail like
I did, be sure to remember to sign your ballot or it won't be counted.
I vote because I care about the future of my country.

I've got nothing against guns, never have. But I think there is a difference between home-defending
gun owner and paranoid crazy armed freak. I have a friend who hunts, and he agrees with me that we
do not need to let regular people own assault rifles and armor piercing rounds and full on machine guns
- military grade weapons.
But at the same time the NRA is so anti-removing anything that they have him convinced it is all part of
a plan to nickel and dime away all your gun rights, that no politician who wants to ban assault guns really
wants that, that they really want to ban all guns and are using the assault guns as a first step.
Do you feel that way? Would you support a candidate who wants to ban guns used primarily for assault
and not defense, or are you also afraid that they would only say that as an attempt at a 'foot in the door'
to remove even more gun rights further down the line?

The NRA exists NOT to preserve gun owner's rights, they exist to make money for the NRA.
NOBODY needs an assault rifle with armor-piercing bullets - that's strictly for gun loons.
My Glock holds 14 bullets - that should handle most problems that a gun can solve.
If 25 people stage a home invasion at Casa de Bart, they're going to succeed.
If an army or the FBI/ATF wants to arrest me or kill me, they will succeed.
But the biggest lie is that anybody CAN come for your guns.
Who's going to go house-to-house in Texas and take their guns?
There's not a force on Earth that could pull that off, but the gun manufacturers
and the always-needs-more-money NRA want you to think "Obama is coming."
They need Obama like a preacher needs the Devil.
