"When you go out and talk to people on the street, they'll tell you,

...and Obama won't even allow an investigation.

But if the banksters were smoking pot,
they'll all be in jail by now.

The GOP's Racist Undertones
How long will they remain undertones?

  Link

There has been a racist undertone to many of the Republican attacks leveled against
President Obama for the last three years, and in this dawning presidential campaign.

You can detect this undertone in the level of disrespect for this president that would be
unthinkable were he not an African-American. Examples include: Rep. Joe Wilson shouting
“you lie” at Obama and Boehner rejecting Obama’s request to speak to Congress—the first
such denial in American history.

Recently, Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-FatAss) said of Michelle Obama: “She lectures us
on eating right while she has a large posterior herself.”  He offered a lame apology, but can
you imagine how the incident would play out if a Black congressman made a crude remark
about Pickles Bush's rear end?

The would've just lynched the guy, and the all-white jury would've acquitted the Republicans.

Obama shows some aggression
That is not a typo...

 Link

Just three hours after Obama defied Congressional Republicans to fill a high-level position
while lawmakers were out of town, Willard Romney sent out the obligatory news release
ripping the president. “Chicago-style politics at its worst,” Mr. Romney fumed, accusing
the president of “circumventing Congress.”

ha ha

Get angry, Willard!

The statement was just what the White House wanted. It put that idiot Willard squarely on the side
of the Republicans in Congress, a group with toxic poll numbers that the president’s campaign hopes
will hurt his rivals for the White House.

Obama has decided to target Republicans in Congress — a body with historically low approval ratings
after a year of handcuffing our job-creating president — who will also be seeking to twin Willard the Rat,
to any extent he can, with the 112th do-nothing, racist Congress.

The Obama campaign this week unleashed a carefully scripted and deliberately aggressive strategy that
showed a White House in combative re-election mode as the president and his advisers sought to ensure
that the Republicans did not get all the political limelight.

If only Obama could govern as well as he runs a campaign.

Abortion a felony in Florida?
They want to see how right-wing they can get

 Link

Florida state Rep. Charles Van Zant (R-Handjob) is starting 2012 with yet another radical effort
to ban all abortions in the state unless the woman’s life is in danger. Declaring that “Jesus, Goid, blah, blah, blah,"
the Florida for Life Act would essentially (and unconstitutionally) make it a felony to perform an abortion
except when a physician meets very specific circumstances.

The measure also mandates that doctors provide certain women and minors with adoption information and a list
of Republican lawyers available to provide volunteer legal services for adoption.” If physicians fail to meet these
stipulations or provide abortion services in any other case including rape or incest, they would face life in prison.

Can't we just get rid of Florida?
If we put the questions to the states, I'm pretty sure it would pass by 2/3.

Let's also get rid of Tejas (they want to leave, anyway) OK, KS, AL, MS, ID and the other reddest states.

America's IQ would shoot up about 40 points.

Santorum's Exorcist problem
He's as Catholic as he can get

  Link

NRick Santorum (R-Frothy) appeals to evangelical voters as a man steeped in family values and
his Christian faith. From 2007 to 2011, however, Santorum served on the board of directors of
Universal Health Services Inc., a large hospital chain which racked up dozens of allegations of abuse
during that time -- including everything from rape to suicide attempts allowed by neglect to murder.

Over the years, states have barred children from attending UHS facilities over safety concerns and
the feds have put UHS on their radar. Department of Justice lawyers have filed two lawsuits accusing
the chain of fraud. One lawsuit settled for $27.5 million. Another suit still pending in federal court in
Virginia centers on a facility called Keystone Marion Youth Center.

The facility, in Marion, Va., treats troubled boys with mental-health issues. The majority of patients
come from states' child-welfare and juvenile-justice systems. The center promises stability, schooling,
and clinically-approved therapies. It was also approved to accept Medicaid patients.

It did not have approval to perform an "exorcism."

Can you believe the nightmare some boys are stuck in?

They have no family so the state takes them in.

Then some GOP whack job suspects some boy might be gay, so they send him to Rick Santorum's
right-wing hospital so they can give him electric-shocks or a lobotomy to attempt to get that "gay devil"
driven out of the poor bastard - and he's got no way to resist.

I should say this every issue:

Religious insanity is the biggest problem in America.
Bigger than the debt, bigger than the economy, bigger than sexism, bigger than racism.

Subject: great news

I tuned in to Rush for a few laughs Thursday and he had great news.
It seems Obama is going to get the banks to forgive everyone's mortgage
just before the election to insure his reelection. Isn't that fantastic news?

I don't see a downside but Rush didn't like the idea. He never mentioned where
he got this information or how Obama is going to get banks to go along with it
but we can hope. He is always right, right? He clarified the idea a little later by
saying everyone will be able to refinance and will save about $400 bucks a
month on their mortgage.

Not that this gibberish will ever happen but *if* it ever happened, how would
the GOP attack Obama in that one? They could blabber all day long about how
bad it is for the country but no one would be listening because they'd be too busy
filling out mortgage forms and changing their voter registration cards to Democrat.

I'm getting stimulated already. I might lease a new Caddy CTS-V with my extra
400 bucks a month. I'll need it to drive down to Atlantic city every weekend.
Life is gonna be good and Rush doesn't like it.

Older pot-smokers have sharper minds

  Link

Past or present drug use doesn't seem to damage middle-aged brains, a new study finds.
British researchers studied the mental sharpness of thousands of 50-year-old subjects,
and found that those who had used illicit drugs—mainly marijuana—actually performed
better than others on tests of memory and other brain functions, Reuters reports.

The middle-aged tokers may have scored higher than others because the drug users
tended to have a higher education level than non-users.

"The results seem to suggest that past or even current illicit drug use is not necessarily
associated with impaired cognitive functioning in early middle age," the lead researcher says.
"However, our results do not exclude possible harmful effects in some individuals
who may be heavily exposed to drugs over longer periods of time."

Damn, no wonder I'm so smart.

If the Teabaggers can't settle on a candidate...

Obama Always Caving In
by Ralph Nader

  Link

When Obama caved in December 2010 to the minority Republicans and agreed to extend the
deficit-producing Bush tax cuts on the rich, he didn't demand in return a continuation of the
regular bi-partisan approval of lifting the debt limit. So over weeks in 2011, he had to mud-wrestle
the Republicans on the debt limit - to the dismay of finance ministers across the world - and won
only after conceding the bizarre creation of a Supercommittee to order its own Congress to enact
budget cuts. That Supercommittee gridlocked and closed down.

I agree. In his first three years as president, his negoitiating style has been to say,
"Ok, I'll give you everything you want - what can I have?" and the GOP always said, "Nothing, fool!"

How is Obama 50 years old and he hasn't learned to say, "I'll give you X, IF I get Y in return?"

Finally, if he does nothing, the $4 trillion Bush tax cuts expire on January 1, 2013 - after the election.
On the same day, the spending trigger automatically kicks in which cuts over ten years $500 billion
from the bloated Defense budget and another $500 billion from other departments, but not from
social security and Medicare/Medicaid beneficiaries.

This is an Obama victory? What makes Mr. Klein so sure Obama won't cave again? He has all this year
to do so. His Defense Secretary says there's no way he would go for any further defense cuts.
Also, Obama was ready in 2011 to raise the Medicare eligibility age in return for the deal on debt ceiling.
He was saved from this folly only by the stubbornness of Boehner and Cantor from the arguably
most passive Congressional district in the U.S.   Boehner and Cantor wanted more.

The good news (Bartcop-ism requires optimism) in the last few months, after  years of getting
his teeth kicked in again and again and again and again, Obama seems to have turned a corner.

If Obama continues his wimp-and-weenie act, if he continues to surrender-in-advance at every turn,
he'll lose the election and we'll go back to the darker days of the Bush bastards.

But maybe he'll act like a man this year. Maybe he'll act like a president
and go into the history books as as success instead of a please-like-me failure.

Oprah's new TV show has about 5% of the ratings her old show had.

She she suddenly turn boring and irrelevant?

You know the big cable companies have OWN, so does DirecTV and Dish,
so why has Oprah's audience abandoned her in droves?

Okie Mom kills intruder w/911 on phone
Her husband died on Christmas, she wasn't in the mood

  Video

This recent widow was alone in her trailer with her newborn.

She hears two scumbags trying to break in, so she calls 9-1-1 and asks for
permission to shoot the sons of bitches - because the cops can't get there in time.

The operator says, "I can't give you permission but for Christ's sake,
do what you have to do to protect yourself and your baby" which is permission.

What do you gun-hating Eastern liberals do when you're in this woman's position?
She's already got the cops on the phone and they say they can't get there in time.

Do you PRAY to some non-existent cloud being for help that isn't coming
and hope they don't rape and murder you - because "guns are bad?"

Liberals who don't like self-defense confuse me.

Subject: your Ron Paul lies

Bartguy, I'm not aware of anyone in the GOP that said "let them die."

That means you're not up-to-speed or ...something else.
People who hate health care insurance have very few options when it comes to treating sick people.

Many people have mistaken notions about the meaning of words.
For instance impeachment doesn't mean removal from office.
Bankruptcy usually means chapter eleven, where the business is reorganized to be functional.
That didn't happen with the car companies.

The fact that the car companies are back in business and making good profits proves
that all they needed was a breather from their creditors and a cash injection.

I am a fiscal conservative bart ( I have to be because I know what the states and the feds can afford ),
but I don't believe in the bank bailout either. AIG should have gone under and those who had their money
invested should have been bailed out but the bankers themselves should have lost their jobs.

Why? Because they got rich thru fraud that was very legal and totally unethical.
They screwed up and bankrupted the world. They should have lost their jobs because they
damn well deserved to. In short, or shortisher, nobody is really to big to fail and the graveyards
are filled with people who spent their careers thinking they were irreplaceable.

I don't know enough about Wall Street to explain AIG, Leyman Brothers and Goldman Sachs
but it was obvious to everyone but the Baggers that the BANKS needed to be saved.

Stupidly, Obama negotiated that the same way he negotiates everything.
He gave the banks everything they asked for and didn't ask for ANYTHING in return.

How is it possible for a man as smart as Obamas to be that stupid?
At least he should've broken up the "too big to fail" banks.

Break Bank of America into 10 or 20 local entities so if one or two branches go bankrupt,
they can die a natural death and let those who took the bad risks go work at McDonalds.

My suspicion Bart is that you don't post my relatively intelligent letters because that would
break with your template/mindset that a non-Democrat can't be concerened, empathetic,
reasonable and capable of being an eclectic social moderate and a fiscal conservative.
Occuping Monkeyville
  Carson

I admit you are more reasonable than most non-Democrats.

Really?
I don't believe those numbers.

That might be what people tell the polsters, but I don't believe it for a second.

I bet only 5-10 of people really believe what they tell polsters on the "God" question.
Who's going to say, in front of their neighbors and co-workers, "I don't believe in God."

Nobody, that's who.

If people really, really actually thought there was a God, a Heaven or any of that,
wouldn't there be almost ZERO crime and ZERO lust and ZERO violence?

Millions of crimes in America - every day.
Tens of millions of illicit sexual hookups - every day.
100 million people, masturbating  - every day.

Really?
With God is watching?

If people believed in God, would they commit a crime or a lustful act right in front of God's face?

Of course not - that's be eternal suicide.

Conclusion: People feel better when the tell others, "God is watching me,"
even tho that's the last thing they really want because of their lust and crimes.
