I am very sad to hear of Terry's death. We shared some special conversations. One was helping him understand and develop the idea for getting people to contribute small amounts per month on a regular basis to sustain the web site.

Another, rather personal one, was exchanging email and phone conversation helping him to explore and enjoy the visit he and Mrs. Bartcop made to Hawaii when I lived there. I told him then, and I continue to think, that one of his best attributes was the memory he had of so many things.

A strong voice has been silenced.

I first found Bart in 2006, he was my gateway to everyone else. I found TPM, Daily KOS, the Faux News Channel that seems to have stopped, even Mario Piperni through this site. I think the only thing we disagreed on was airport security - I thought it was a useless wast of money for show and he thought it really deterred bad guys... I live and breath sarcasm and so did Bart, but I think a lot of people he commented on did not... Some people just did not 'get' Bart.
