His site made me laugh when I needed to during dark times.
He pissed me off sometimes but who wants to live life without being pissed off occasionally.
If I was not scrambling in old age to feed myself I'd certainly donate a little cash.
Come to think of it I can skip a meal if I put my mind to it.
Bless the man and somebody man the ship he left behind.

All good things must come to an end and Mr. Bartcop will be missed.I'll miss his humor, jokes and comics and everything that was Bartcop. But I think the web site should continue and someone else should take over the posting. It's a good web site that needs to stay. Democrats and liberals have very few sites like this and it needs to stay. Just like with Steve Jobs founder of Apple computers they didn't end his company because he died it's still there and will live on and I think the same of Mr. Bartcop. The man who created it has die but his web site should live on in memory of him! God Bless!

Everything has been said, eloquently and frequently. I was fortunate because Bart posted a good number of my comments to him. There's a nice piece from William Rivers Pitt over at the Smirking Chimp, please find it because it's a good read.
RIP Bart, gone but never forgotten.

Oh I am so sorry! I am so sad! I have read BC for many years. I feel like I lost a favorite teacher. I've learned so much from this site. Plus, I love tequila.
Godspeed, friend.
My deepest sympathy to Mrs. Bart.

There’s a British slang word that describes how I felt (and still do) after hearing this news – “gobsmacked”. Speechless and stunned! (And terribly sad.)
Like many others, I discovered Bartcop in the dark days after the judicial coup of 2000, and have been a regular since.
I was there at Juliefest in DC 4/27/02 (has it been almost a dozen years now?) and still have the T-Shirt and video. Somehow our paths crossed that night, and I got to briefly meet/speak to Bart. Despite the brevity of our encounter, I can still remember it like it was yesterday. Bart graciously posted my comments re: Juliefest and several other things, and for that I’m grateful. Plus, he turned me on to Garbage, and for that I’m eternally grateful!
A great man has left the stage - and a great void exists behind him. I'm missing him already.
Heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Bart and family.
