My deep condolences on the loss to the friends and family of Bartcop. What a great voice we had in him. It was such a relief to have his website to turn to during the terrible Bush years and beyond.
My hope is that the site can remain up and his work can be preserved and perhaps continue. Maybe plans are already underway for that.
I hope other journalists and commentators take note of our friend's passing and draw some appropriate attention to Bartcop's important contribution.
Hail and farewell

Bart you did some real good. Not many can even say that. I would love to argue some with you right now. You can still send some monkey red-ass down from your perch in the cosmic void, cloud being or no. We had more agreements than disagreements and you provided info that educated me. There could be no higher praise! You will see actions inspired by you and have thus outlived your mortality. I chased down and bought Chinaco because of you. I will raise a shot to you in my Bartcop shotglass. Wish that it could be with you, but to you will have to do. Mrs. Bart, you held a shooting star. Thank you for sharing that with the rest of us.

Bartfest in Las Vegas was the one and only time we met Bart. But he was in my home every time he posted a new page for the last 15 years. We will miss you….

Bart helped us through the bad days of Clinton, the stolen election, bush, Iraq, and September 11th...I will miss his tell it like it is irreverent humor. Some of my favorites - the Dr Laura pics, pink tutu's, Tim Russert etc. You helped many people Terry, financially and otherwise. I couldn't subscribe but I sent in several things that you placed on your web site. I will continue to buy through your Amazon portal. I will also send a donation to Mrs Bart. Please find a way to continue the web site - Terry would have wanted that. Maybe the Bart store could be expanded to include more items. I would be happy to continue sending in articles for the web site. Bless you Terry...you were the best.

Bart would have been happy as an old hammer-hog with Paul Ryan accidently saying how he really feels about black inter city people. When you quote Charles Murray, you are taking a stand, whether or not everyone understands the reference. This is racist code talk, head nodding, wink-wink speak. This is Paul Ryan and his fellow racists, talking outloud. Ryan must have had a really full stomach today with his completely soul-less and useless remarks. In typical republic fashion Ryan points out a problem, blames that problem on poor people and offers zero solutions. I don’t know how I am going to make it thru the midterm without Bart.

Goodbye to a fellow Clintonista. I started reading you when Bill was under siege by Ken Starr and his cronies. You kept my sanity when JR as in power in the 00s. I cannot believe you are gone. You will be missed. RIP
