I can't even remember how I came across Bartcop, but it has been a constant and daily ritual from early in 2000 for me. I think his biggest impact on me is to always deal in facts and not to assume my own arguments are correct.

I also found BartCop.com in it's early days. Surrounded by conservatives, I was surfing for anyone who despised Rush Limbaugh as much as I did. And I found BartCop. His insights were brilliant and I've been a faithful reader ever since. I actually learned from him how to sharpen my own debating skills. He will be missed.

My husband found BartCop.com about 15 min. after he first published. One of the best web-surfing habits we've ever developed & maintained.

Others have expressed sentiments similar to mine. I'm glad he's not suffering, and I'm sure he's swinging that hammer, wherever he is. Marty over at BCE posted a lovely tribute.

I'll miss you Bartcop; thanks for all you've given us. R.I.P.

Like many of us Bart Cop was on my favorites list and a regular stop every day. The word favorite is an understatement in this case. I still come to the site knowing full well ol Bart is gone. The day Bart passed I left the page up until my wife came home. I told her to go and look at the computer. She said it is sad that Bart passed because she knew how much I enjoyed reading his blog. He got me throught the dark ages of bu$h. Being the optimist that my wife is, she suggested that maybe somebody else will continue the cite. I told her no. Nobody can fill ol Bart's shoes.

I will miss Bart for a long time. His blog and his motto come to mind every time I hear, "If I had a Hammer." Bart was the Hammer, BartCop was the bell, and his words formed the song.

So sorry to read that Bart has died. I know what illness can do, especially pneumonia as I have had it too. Swing on that hammer Bart! RIP
